This is part of the career set that I bought a few days ago.

Good tune up fight for his bout against Foreman... After working with Gil Clancey, Cooney showed more jabs, more movement, and just a more technical approach.

I like his body punching and his calm mentality in this fight. Had he gone up against somebody else, and not the wrecking ball that was Foreman in 1990, he may have done a lot better.

Cooney still staggered George and got his respect in that fight though.

Sounds like you got a good deal with that career set, didn't it have some amateur bouts on there too?

    yeah it did
i got 3 amatuer bouts. cooney really looks slim, then again he never really was a HUGE guy like lewis or bowe.
i don't know why this fight isn't playing properly. it seems after the referee's directions it gets all choppy :?

yes it plays perfect on dvd. its too bad too

umm, i think so, he was still awfully tall though. After one of his bouts he went to give his opponent a hug, and his opponent shoved him off. i think im taking this down since its not playing right

Cooney started out as a lanky middleweight, then moved to light heavyweight, and finished at heavyweight. As a heavyweight in 1975, Cooney made a minor sensation by knocking out a top rated Soviet in the first round, on live national television. Cooney won the fight with a single, devastating left hook to the head.

    Cheers :good

Amazing how a guy as tall as Cooney once made Middleweight, he must have dwarfed most of his opponents.
