He did get stopped by a cat. Arguably knocked down against Barrett, hit the canvas against Mormeck. Maybe more but i cant remember.
I wont class that as "glass chinny" but he does get hit, but i agree that his the fragility of his chin is exaggerated

Why don't you post an analysis first why you think his chin is NOT as bad as most think?

It's average at best. He's is very hittable because of his low swinging left hand, so he's prone to take bombs. He was exhausted against Thompson, and was stopped on his feet. He was decked by a temple shot from a former super middle, and of course by Barret and Mormeck. With the exception of Thompson, he went on to brutally stop all of those opponents, so it can't be that bad if he gets up again and wins.

Expect the chin-fetishists like Zak, Rico et al to masturbate all over this thread with their perversion.

    Ok

    Haye

    24wins
    22 ko's
    88% ko percentage
    1 lost (Carl Thompson)

And i honesty think that was down to trying to get the knock out early on.

Then look at another cruiser weight champ : Holyfield (LEGEND)

    43wins
    28ko's
    51% ko percentage
    10 lost 2 by ko

So is he really that bad???

The guy gets alot of bad press saying he is scared of the klits but if you was getting 10 million a fight wouldn't you make sure the deal if right first?

I'm a big Haye fan and i also want him to fight the klits and i hope it happens next year and i dont think he is scared like mayweather.

Who will also beat pac man the guy has crazy skill!

Thanks my first post so new to all this :D

Llolenga Mock - a former SMW - had Haye in serious trouble. Haye as a average or below-average chin and (worst of all) a terrible defense that leaves him open and exposed way too often.

Haye knows he's living on borrowed time at HW, that's why he keeps talking about retiring early and trying to cash in with a big Klitschko fight before he gets exposed and forgotten.

the level of opposition between Holyfield and Haye is massive. Their records cannot be comparable

Look at Povetkin's record. 0 losses. Does that mean his chin is good?

You have to watch all of Haye's fights and see how he reacted when he got hit.

Watch Haye vs. Thompson, Mock, Barrett and Mormeck in the pros and vs. Solis and Twite in the amateurs. He was in trouble against all of them. These guys are not known to be superior knockout artists, yet Haye was wobbly against each and every one of them.

    What does this tell you?

Amateurs just isn't the same when someone hasn't matured. Haye was a skinny runt in the amateurs. Lots of people get stopped in the amateurs.

Haye was clearly exhausted vs Thompson. Mock was a temple shot. Barrett was the first man in history to knock down the iron-chinned Tua, even if he was an older version of Tua. Mormeck threw a great shot.

How many times has he been sparked out by taking one on the chin to weak punchers? Exactly.

DLH got dropped by Sweet Pea!

Haye's chin is certainly not great, but it's not terrible either. It's a C/C-, but its not in the Amir Khan spectrum.

Against Ruiz i recall he got reckless and got hit alot in one of the early rounds. He backed up and he was definitely hurting.
I think he even admitted he doesn't have the most solid chin in boxing, and you can see why, cause he's been hurt several times when he shouldn't, like when he barely survived against Mock.
Now he's at heavyweight, and while he's bigger now, he's fighting heavyweights.

On the other hand against the big slow Valuev, Haye fought a smart fight, though he was a little reckless at times. Of course it takes alot more to beat a Klitschko, but if he can follow through with the right gameplan, he can make it exciting at least.

To add to what MancMexican has already stated Haye adapted a pretty aggresive style against those opponents so isnt it not suprising that he got caught clean a few times. Haye's defence is based on reflexes as well so hes bound to get caught clean.

I cant recall him being hurt by Ruiz, he backed up most of the fight trying to walk Ruiz onto punches.

I'd say his chin is below average.

One of the reasons I love watching him fight is that he doeasnt fight in a cautious style to protect it. There's a great chance that watching Haye fight means someone is getting knocked out.
