Possible and probable reasons why Williams in not a p4p fighter

That doesn't mean that you can rate them as great wins in any sense though-devon fought an incredibly faded witter, corley's been a walking heavy bag for a while now(except against maidana), and urango's output hasn't been spectacular either. the point was- those wins certainly are not p4p material and the fact that Pdub has wins over sergio and cintron(regardless as to how you score them or perceive them) is more meaningful.

 

Pavlik , Caballero , Wlad , Vitali , Valuev , Margarito all tall fighters , P4P entrys not IMO !!!!!

No he doesnt get there because he's tall he gets there because of the attributes i previously mentioned , your approaching border line hater status here big man , im reading through your posts and im not finding a lot of substance , just a lot of hot air !!!

Yes Williams doesnt look amazing when he fights , but he gets things done , he wins rounds , and he breaks fighters will , what your faced with when fighting Paul Williams is a tall powerful athlete who doesnt stop coming forward , he isnt by any means the most well rounded fighter ive ever seen , but for me easily makes P4P top 10 !!! , he doesnt make P4P because he's so amazing more so because he's so difficuilt to beat !!!

1)I'm not even a Williams fan. I think he's a really good fighter but I don't root for him really. I am a fan of Alexander's though, and even as a fan of his there is no way I can honestly try and argue that his resume is better than Williams.

2)A win over a pre-Mosley brick handed Margarito and a shut out win over Winky, which no one has ever done to Winky, are FAR greater than a win over an old Corley, an old and garbage Witter, or a one dimensional Urango, although the fact that he KO'd Urango was really impressive.

 

If you base P4P solely on resume, there aren't 20 guys with better recent resumes than Williams. Period.

- 8 of his last 10 fights have come against former, future or current titlists, across three different weight classes.
- Fought close (and officially beat) Martinez, who became lineal middleweight champ his next fight and is now on most top 10 P4P lists
- Whether you think he was shot, beat a Winky Wright who was only one middleweight fight removed from being P4P #3
- Beat Margarito while Margo was ranked P4P top 10

Purely on a skills basis, yeah, there are probably 20 better fighters than him, but that's not how most people determine pound for pound.
