Floyd will go down as the most overrated boxer in history

i wouldn't go that far. after castillo 2 he's been very selective with his fights. on the odd time (hatton, mosley) they're the best fight out there. other times (brussels, marquez) it's not even close

 

He's criminally underated. People hate him as a person and let it cloud their judgement of him as fighter.

 

what's a proper rating for him you'd say? all time or by weight class

 

He'll be seen as one of the best, definately one of the best defensive fighters ever, but won't ever be put amongst the true ATGs who tested themselves like Leonard, Duran, SRR, Arsmtrong, Ali, PACQUIAO.. I'm sure he'd love to hear that lol. He's pretty much destroyed his aspirations of ever getting serious consideration as the GOAT that's for sure.

 

if mosley is old and shot why is pacroid fighting the guy that got beat by that old shot guy? if hatton wasnt good when floyd fought him... wut was he when pacroid fought him? wut about ODLH? if he was sold and shot...why wouldnt pacroid fight him at his real like floyd did? more things that make me go hmmmmmmm :huh

Hatton, Gatti, Oscar and Mosley are all going into the Hall of fame. Add Hernandez and thats 5. Jose Luis Castillo who was the greatest lightweight of the decade, SHOULD be going to the hall of fame. You can say Oscar and Mosley werent prime, but they were both coming off dominating wins over champions, and Mayweather fought Oscar at his 5th and Mosley at his 4th weight class respectively.

Add in the fact that he's done this 5 weight classes, 15-0 against former or current champions and remained undefeated, that undoubtedly puts him as a top 50 ATG.

undoubtedbly top 50 (i have him around 40 at the moment) but hatton, oscar and mosley were past prime. mosley and oscar very much past prime but hatton was closeish. i love gatti but he was way past his best weight and best time. castillo you're right though: HOF fighter in his prime and two great wins

nah, Gatti isn't making it to the hall. If he does then so does Sharmba Mitchell.

 

Even if Mosley and Oscar were past prime they were both viewed as the 2 best fighters in their weight class. Mosley was welterweight champion of the world. Even if they werent peak, they were formidable. Hatton was prime. Dont see how he was past it, came off a dominating KO of Castillo, viewed as a top 8 P4P.

In all honesty Gatti getting in and CAstillo not just shows how Hall of Fame is almost useless in boxing. Castillo was the best lightweight of his generation, him not getting in and Gatti a B fighter at even when he was prime is a travesty to me.
