Which Active Boxer do you think would make the best trainer?

    My pick is Juan Manuel Marquez. I think he's an incredibly intelligent fighter who might be down to earth enough to not make fights about him like other trainers occasionally do. As long as he's not forcing boxers to drink the special "tecate" elixir, I think he'd do great.

    Bernard Hopkins. If he can communicate what goes through his head while fighting to his apprentice, he could turn them into huge overachievers like himself.

    :good Good call before i read your post i was thinking Marquez, hes laid back and definitely knows the ins and outs as much as anyone.

    B-Hop would be good

    Mayweather depending on the personilaty and talent of the guys hes working with.

    Chris John

    Andre Dirrell seems to have the personlaity and know how to work with fighters.

    IM also thinking Rafa Marqueaz would also be good.

    Klitchkos got the personalitys to work with fighters but lot of what makes them a success is their size and they have perfected the way on using it. I dont think they could do much with a medium or smaller fighter.


    Oh yeah I think Barrera would be an excellent trainer!

    I agree with the the BHop and Marquez calls. Grady Brewer is working with several amatuers and a couple of prospects. I think Brewer might be a far better trainer than he was a fighter.

    Great fighters tend to not be all that successful as training. Possibly because they were so good and picked up things quickly and can't understand why other fighters aren't like them.

    How many really good trainers were great professional fighters?
