Hey Champ,,, Would you ever consider setting up a training camp up in Cero Azul? It could be like Panama City's version of Big Bear. All the best... Viva Panama!
Sorry im so late. Since hes fighting soon and DeLeon is aswell why hasnt he persued another fight with Ponce DeLeon? Im sure Ponce is willing to accept if hes called out. Tell him I said good luck and its unfortunate that top rank is creating ***s nowadays.
Who's his other options right now? It seems Cordoba has an almost done deal with somebody else (Rigondeaux).
i dont think he has a need to fight deleon again. he won the first time, so why call him out again? it seems deleon should be the one doing the calling out. if that were to happen, then maybe, but that fight wouldnt really make sense for caballero, imo
i will elaborate on that from what i have seen, but i will ask him as well. he eats a lot more junk than you would think. he eats well, but he has ice cream almost every day before he goes to bed. he eats chips and stuff too. he does eat a lot of fruit and veggies. for example last week at a cook out, we had ribs, tri tip, etc and he just had one small piece of beef and a lot of watermelon, pineapple, fruit, etc. he doesnt eat pork, of course. i saw him drink a beer for the first time last week. he rarely drinks. he has an occassional soft drink, but mostly water and juice. he exercises really, really hard. he lifts weights, but not too much because he needs to watch his weight. jeff mayweather isnt lying though when he says this guy works out harder than anyone he has ever seen. he trains 6 days a week every week
i am talking to him now. looks like the net is a lot more sure of the fight with cordoba than pelenchin is. he doesnt think that fight is happening, or really want it. i will type up the interview and post it later
here is the copy and paste from the quick interview i did with him. it is posted on his website. i am going to the gym on tuesday and will post a video along with a more detailed interview. also, i will grab jeff mayweather's thoughts on the lasted floyd stuff. I had the chance to speak with Pelenchin last night and he cleared up a few questions regarding his current fight status. JK- There has been a lot of talk that a rematch between you and Cordoba is imminent. Where do negotiations currently stand? CC- All of this talk on the internet is just speculation. That is not a fight I would be interested in at this time. He doesn't bring anything to the table. I want to move forward in my career, not backwards. JK- So you do not feel you have unfinished business with Cordoba? CC- Not at all. When I fought him last time I did not take my profession seriously. I was not training hard like I do now. Now I am a much better fighter. I am a champion and I train like one. During that fight I was not serious. JK- So there are no plans for you to return to 122 lbs? CC- No. I will not fight again at this weight. JK- What about a move to 130 lbs? CC- That is a definite possibility. If I go there I think I could get fights more easily with champions. At this weight (126), people are more concerned about protecting their records than fighting the best. JK- Chris John has been quoted as saying he wants a fight soon. Why can't you two get together since you don't have opponents? CC- I would like that very much. He is the super champion and I want to fight other champions at this point. JK- Do you have any other possible opponents you are discussing right now? CC- I have nothing.
so, you didn't ask him if he liked fish fingers or not.. great, how the **** am i gonna get on with my life now? this is a big set back for me!
Next time you get a chance can you see if there is any truth in the rumour that he could be taking on Matt Remilard on the Marquez-Katsidis undercard? And how much correspondence do HBO give him and his team with regards to letting him know what fights they want him in and on the issues of Lopez or Gamboa.
yea, i am going to do more on tuesday at the gym. i will go over that. but he doesnt know about any fights that are imminent. i cant tell you everything, but pelenchin is not necessarily aware of all of the negotiations that dibella is going through right now. it is definitely in dibellas best interest to get pelenchin a fight as soon as possible as it is in pelenchins contrat that dibella must get him a fight by a certain date. that is why all these proposed fights are popping up all of a sudden. that is as much as i can elaborate
