If Bowe fought all Vitali Klitchko opponents instead of him own how would his resume stand. Vitali is critisized for weak opposituion but would a 30 plus Bowe be able to beat the likes of Corrie Sanders or would his career be littered with losses. How would he fare against Lewis? Likewise how would Vit match against Holyfield? Would Holy be his only loss too - I think Klit was consistant enough to beat Holy of the 3rd fight how about the other two. Thanks for all your views..
On paper, Bowe should beat all of Vitali's opponents. But I don't think he would. He'd grow lazy and fat, in addition to simply getting older, and lose to a lesser fighter.
Probably so........ BUT! I insist V.K.'s comp has been good.......:bbb Christ, both "Louis and Marciano" fought their share of ham and eggers..... Yet, hardly anyone seems to give a ****.... Why? :blood:huh MR.BILL:hat
Bowe beats Lewis? I think Bowe would have more losses that he currently does if he fought all of Vitali's opponents.
Thats the problem with Bowe, he only had one or 2 good fights in him - It would take a peak or near peak Bowe to beat Sanders, Peter, Arreola, or either Johnson. And Bowe did not have the ability to perform well in that many fights, he was pretty much finished after one tough fight. Whereas Vitali has proved very conistant. I think if Vitali and Bowe fought each other every year over a 10 year period through out their careers Bowe would win 2 and Vit 8
Bowe lost one close fight his entire career with an ATG. He had ten times the heart than Vitali had, thats why he was actually able to fight through adversity on three occasions and come out the winner. Vitali has been nothing but a complete failure in comparable situations. :deal
Vitali had the heart to get in the ring with Lewis - something Bowe didnt have the heart to do! So if Bowe and Vitali squared up every year for 10 years, how do you think it would pan out?
no it hasn't theres no way any of vitali's comp has been better then marciano's or louis. look at who these guys beat. Carnara, Schmelling, Walcott, Max Baer, Buddy Baer, Charles, Toney Galento, and Tommy Farr. Much better then anybody on Vitali's resume. And even Marciano had some good opponents in Louis, Charles, Moore, Walcott, and Rex Layne. Once again all of these guys are better then the opponents the klits have been feasting on.
Regardless of what you think about Bowe being scared or whatever, he showed tremendous heart, getting up from a knockdown where he was basically out, and fighting through his depleted skills against Golota twice. He took tremendous punishment, got off the deck and forced Golota to quit and foul out twice. That shows tremendous guts and determination. In retrospect, Vitali quit due to a hurt shoulder, and basically quit mentally once Lewis started hitting him more frequently. Thats an intangible that can never be taught and would always be a factor had they fought, because Bowe would need to be knocked out or safely outboxed at distance, not to put Vitali in a situation he didnt like, and that most likely would not happen because Bowe was a hell of a fighter.
This hall of fame is full of guys who had to quit, Left Hook. Bowe never had to fight with a torn shoulder, nor was he smart enough to know that that type of injury could end a career if he pressed it. Very few fighters press on and win wih that type of injury. Bowe showed good heart in the ring, but failed to do so out of the ring. Also, your nuts. Vitali did not mentally quit vs. Lewis. I seen guys pack it in with a cut. Vitali was pressing on, and winning the fight. Your antipathy toward Vitali is starting to get the better of your judgment.
Vitali was submitting to Lewis pressure, thats for sure. Why do you think he started getting hit more and more? Id also argue its much harder to finish a fight with a torn shoulder against the light hitting Chris Byrd, than it is to get off the deck half unconscious against Evander Holyfield.
