This sadly is true... He could wipe out Audley then fight Wlad and make a shitload more. If it wasn't for his behaviour the last 2 years, it would be an acceptable move. Here's hoping Audley somehow lands a hail mary punch and knocks him out. I still cant believe Haye was insinuating that the Klits were avoiding Ruiz. That msg was pathetic.
So do they have sky ppv in germany? or does haye believe that there will be more english money generated than german money? it is obvious any sales are due to both fighters. both are well known. keeping the "home" revenue makes no sense. so that cant be the reason. i dunno much about the rtl network, is it ppv or subscription?
1) Yes, we do. [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Deutschland[/ame] But luckily it's not successful at all, only has 2.4 million subscribers. Reason: Germany has far more free-to-air channels in comparison to other European countries. 2) Neither, RTL is a commercial free-to-air channel ( [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RTL_Television[/ame] ), just like other German boxing channels such as SAT.1, SPORT1 and Eurosport. ARD is the German equivalent to your BBC.
Thats what ive been trying to get into peoples heads? Haye Vs klit would sell a lot more PPV buys then say Haye vs Chagaev. If haye was the sole draw in the UK why did Ruiz sell so much less then the Valuev fight?
I haven't seen it mentioned yet but didn't Haye offer to keep all the proceeds from UK tv, Wlad all the proceeds from German tv and the rest of the money was split 50/50 and Wlad said no?
well then that has to mean that Wlad doesn't intend to make more money from his tv deal than Haye will with Sky. I read earlier in the year that the brothers signed a 15 million deal with RTL that was to sign them up for 5 fights - 3 with Wlad and 2 with Vitali. So thats 7.5 million for Vitali over his two fights and and 7.5 million for Wlad for his 3 fights. So Wlad is making 2.5 million per fight with RTL with his current contract, whilst Vitali is getting 3.75 million. With Haye's promotional skills he is bound to match or even better Wlad's current deal!
Yes, that's what Haye said after first insisting that all money (German TV, UK PPV etc.) was to be split 50/50. Wlad agreed. Then Haye changed his mind and suddenly wanted 100% of UK TV and Wlad should keep 100% of German TV, basically guaranteeing Haye a 60/40 split of the total purse If Wlad had agreed to 60/40 for Haye, what would have been next? Haye would have come out with another BS demand such as 70/30?
If you assume Wlad - Haye makes ~1.2 million PPV sales @ 5 quid each = 6 million GBP = approx. 7.25 million EUR. Wlad makes ~3 million EUR from RTL. Basically Haye "offered" Wlad to fight with Wlad making 4.25 million EUR = $5 million Dollars less than himself Obviously Haye knew Wlad would never ever agree to such a ridiculous proposition. It was an easy way to talk himself out of the fight because this story sounds fair to the casual and naive British fan but quickly falls apart when looked at in detail.
His contract with Sauerland. If Haye accepted 50/50 straight down the middle (like he initially wanted) Haye would have to share his 50% with Sauerland, resulting in a situation where Haye makes less than Wlad. Wlad - 50% Haye - 50% minus Sauerland split Remember Kalle Sauerland's quote: "There are multiple parties with a financial interest in Haye's fights, we're just one of those parties. That makes reaching a deal more difficult." They kept yelling they want 50/50, then they get the offer and then they quickly rescind on it. Haye will probably agree to a 50/50 split once he gets rid of Sauerland (2 more options).
well my info is and there is documented proof of all offers and counter offers, so if Haye is lying why hasn't Wlad come out and said so. Also, the info I have received was that the deal I mentioned above was never responded to by Wlad. Klitschko has meant to have rejected the inital 50-50 split because of stipulations in the German tv contract, hence the reason why Haye offered the 100% share of each others tv deals - it was this deal that Klitschko has not responded to.
1. As explained above Haye's "offer" stipulated that Haye would earn $5 million Dollars more than Wlad. Is that an offer or an insult? 2. Klitschko never rejected a 50-50 deal. He made the 50-50 offer that Haye said he wanted in April. Once Haye got the offer it was Haye who turned around said he isn't happy with the German TV money, knowing Wlad is locked into a contract with German station RTL. So basically Haye was asking Wlad to a) either break his existing TV contract and risk a costly lawsuit in Germany. Note that Haye and Booth were well aware of Wlad's German TV contract when they initially made their 50-50 split demand in April. b) allow Haye to earn $5 million more than himself by taking 100% of the UK PPV money Haye was "offering" Wlad two crappy deals. Either Wlad ends up in court or he makes much less money than Haye.
