Any possibility that Floyd has been influenced by King to play the race card? The Holmes vs. Cooney fight in '82 relied heavily on racism and became a mega fight, while earning millions and millions of dollars. The word is King made more money off of that bout than the fighters. I'm not condoning racism of any type, to be honest it stinks to high heaven. However, from a hype point of view, if this fight EVER comes off, it just got even bigger. Eithr that or Floyd is just a goofy little *****, which lets face it, is probably 1/20 odds.
Maybe? But Don King never gives advice unless he's sure of extracting financial gain usually. He may have said to Mayweather, if you think you are unpopulor & you think people hate you then make them hate you more, then that way they'll deff pay to see you beat:smoke Mayweather will never ever fight pac at 147, if you look at it he's driving pac up in weight to Lt/Middle & if he beats Margo & then Cotto in a unification fight then Floyd will call out pac at the higher weight & insist on 154 which will really load plenty in his favour & Pac would have to agree or look like he's the one ducking out, a very calculating move, by Floyd or King????
maybe. however do we seriously want to have a fight that is litterly at boiling point? plus wasn't there police snipers at that fight because they feared there would be riots? Its stupid and irresponsible.
Reminds me of what I heard about one of Ali's fights, I think against Wepner. King kept telling Wepner to bust out the N word and Wepner didn't want to. Eventually Wepner relented and did so. Ali laughed at him.
It's a possibility...but it wouldn't really make sense at this point unless the bout in 2011 was already agreed upon. Mayweather attempting to get into Pacquiao's head at this point only serves to distract Manny from his upcoming bout with Margarito, and in turn putting the Mayweather v Pacquiao bout in jeopardy. But yeah, if he wants people to really despise him...he's doing all the "right" things.
You think? There are better options at 147lbs for Pacquiao, and the only reason he is taking on Margarito is because he is with Top Rank. The only person who is driving Pacquiao up in weight is Arum, and their ambition to get an 8th title in a different weight class via catchweight.
No. The social conditions today are way to different too 1982. Playing on race is seen as something classless nowadays, and it really isn't recieved too well. It's quite simple really. For those few minutes, Floyd got carried away and forgot to surpress his real character. The racist jibes he was barking, is something he does on a regular basis with his friends and family. The only difference this time, was that the thick **** left it on record for millions of viewers. Also, does anyone remember one of the Mayweather/Hatton 24/7 episodes? Where Floyd goes to have his pedicure done by that asian lady, and he proceeds to throw karate chops whilst and making funny noises? Yep, Floyd's been like this loooooong before he made an acquaintance with Don King.
Why all this squealing & whinning about catchweight!!!!!????? Sugar Ray Leonard demanded it all the time & if both fighters are OK with it whats the problem???? Or are you one of these that thinks that to win a title it's got to be at the division maxium!!! Thats dumb. What Pacquiao's acheived to date is incredible & now he's taking on a 6'1" aggresive banger who dwarfs him & good well beat pac to a pulp, it's a very dangerous fight but all we get is people yelping & squealing that it's 3LB shy of the division limit, who cares!!!!!!!!! so what!!!!!!!!!! it's inside 154 & above 147, end of story................. What are those better options at 147 that can fill a stadium??? Pacquiao is now at the superstar level which demands big opponants/fights much like DLH was back at the start of the decade. If Pacquiao wants the mega money he's got to have an opponant thats known so as to sell massive PPv numbers, what it's got too do with Arum???? Thank **** they all are with Arum or we'd never get any fights. Mayweather has bugged out twice now from the most natural blockbuster showdown we've had since Leonard/Duran 1 & Leonard/Hearns 1 There's only Mosley who's a brand name, Williams is relativly unknown & invisible & would only have freakshow interest what with the size disparity. Margarito is the most obvious big fight choice due to his now notorious hand wrap scandal so he's the man in black bad guy & Pacman's the sheriff. Margo has a massive Mexican fanbase who'll pack out the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas & it'll be a massive PPv event so very good big business. So what options are you talking about at 147 or 140 for Pacquiao that outsell a Margarito fight or who's not with Arum that could wet the paying publics interest???? Is it Pacquiao/Mosley 147 or Marquez III at 140 as there's **** all else that can generate the revenue demanded now by Pacquiao, the money's got to come from somewhere & you need a couple of someone's to sell it.
Correct I've just watched the whole 11 minutes, He's quite funny in parts especially when he's showing off his house 7 all the gadgets + the display case with about 200 pairs of bling diamand encrusted sunglasses to pick from Yeh he's just shooting the **** with his mates & as you said the ****in idiot has left himself wide open too be shredded by selective editing media outlets we are seeing & reading aboutatsch Yeh you saw him for what he really is as there's a real nasty ****er lurking not so far below the surface:smoke
Margarito is not 6'1". I have no issues with catchweights, as long as titles are not on the line. Whats the point in having a weight class, and belts to coincide with that weight class...then making up your own weight limits to try win a title? If you can't make the maximum weight limit, fine...but don't try to grab a belt if your not going to allow your opponent to come in at the maximum that weight class allows them to. What Pacquiao has achieved is incredible...but isn't it all about testing your limits? You have proven you are World class, Elite, HoF, ATG, etc...if you want to move up in weight to try capture a title, don't bring up no catchweights. Even if boxers started testing the water with catchweights at a higher weight class, then if they believe they can be competitive at that higher weight...then go for a title. You kind of sound like Mayweather with all these PPV numbers, etc. I honestly don't care how many buys boxers make, how much money they make. But seen as you are talking PPV numbers...when has Margarito been known to sell "massive PPV numbers"? This bout is about Arum and Top Rank...there are a number of more deserving opponents that should be ahead of Margarito to challenge Pacquiao, the P4P#1. But no, because Margarito is with Top Rank...in only his second bout back from his year long ban, he grabs himself his biggest payday and a chance to upset the P4P#1.
Beg pardon i was getting mixed up with Williams 1) This content is protected So i suppose you'd rather have no fight at all then seeing you think it's unfair on Margo!!!! Pacquiao for me is now well up to the limit of his physical capabilities as far as i'am concerned & i'd as soon as see him retire as he's obviously now getting bashed about a bit fighting all these big fellers. Whats wrong in trying to have a fair & even fight by agreeing a weight. If we adopted your reckening then we'd not get a fight thats going to be a barn burner...........So what do we do???? Sit & wait for Mayweather to make his mind up over the next 2 years!!!!! You said Pac had better options at 147........WHAT ARE THEY THEN:smoke
