As far as we know, Khan is only going to make 1.2 million. A lot of the cash revenue apart from that is going to be split along the companies on both sides of the pond. Maidana is essentially not fighting Khan over the money he's asking for. He's fighting Golden Boy, HBO and whoever will air the fight in the UK. He's also fighting the undercard boxers and the event site which the fight will take place in.

Chances of the fight happening in the UK looks dim, however, and it being fought in the US would make the overall pie even smaller.

Yes, Maidana is pricing himself out in this fight.
