You gonna tell me the 40 year old that fed on former Welterweights was the prime Hopkins? Prime Roy beats him even easier if that's the case.

No Hopkin's prime was from around 1997-2003. He fought Jones in 1993 and again in 2010. Well before he reached his prime and again when both were way past their primes. If Roy had fought him in 2000, or somewhere around there, you could say he fought him in his prime. Like NALLEGE mentioned above, that's like saying that Morrales first fight against Pac, was Pac at his prime.

Even though Floyd is acting like a bitchass right now. I have to admit that his list of opponents is more impressive than Jones. Maybe theres just been more talent in Floyds divisions, but i call it how i see it.

I think people are harsh on Roy. The guy didn't really have the opponents and options people like Mayweather have. Besides, as Roy said "people think i fight nobodies, i just make them look like nobodies,!" LOL!

funny how some of the greatest fighters of all-time are always being called duckers...

look at a ring magazine from 2003. Roy found like 7-8 of the top 10 light heavyweights.. a few top 10 cruiserweights and super middleweights as well. he didn't fight michaelseski because the guy wouldn't leave europe to fight him. didn't fight Michael Nunn because he was no longer elite, cried about roy getting a bigger split to

floyd fought atg's de la hoya, mosley, marquez, and elite fighters of the time like hatton, judah, corrales, genaro hernandez, demarcus chop chop corley, jose luis castillo, and arturo gatti.

    so please haterz!

Roy never had a Pacquaioesque fighter banging the war drums.

you could make a case that every great fighter who spent time on top ducked somebody...

de la hoya never fought margarito. didn't fight chavez in his prime either.

hopkins didn't fight dawson....tyson never fought riddick bowe...lewis didn't fight tyson in his prime or give vitali a well deserved rematch...joe louis was accused of fighting nothing but bumbs... pacquaio didn't fight mosley (even though sugar was begging for the fight, pac didn't have a dance partner at the time and mosley was willing to drop to 142lb.

i was just making the point that the great fighters can never catch a break. of course there was no way for him to fight chavez in his prime.

many people don't give floyd credit for fighting shane because he was supposedly past his prime.

lewis doesn't get a lot of credit for beating a shell of tyson.

i'm not condoning people who think this way. just making the point that people are always going to belittle the greatest fighters achievements.
