For absolute certain id have Frank Mir in that list , id prefer to see Kongo in for Werdum , Barnett really has no place among the mentioned fighters IMO .

Back to the original point who's the best ???

I think there is an argument for maybe 3 or 4 :

Fedor , One of the most naturally gifted fighters of our generation , freakish athletisism , un predictable , at times un orthadox and yet deadly accurate stand up skills , and probably the best finisher the HW MMA division has ever seen :deal , however Fedor is on the slide , that has to be said , and i personally think if he never fights in the UFC its a serious dent in his legacy ............

Velasquez , without doubt the biggest impact any HW fighter has ever made in MMA :deal , he looks to have every aspect a fighter needs to dominate his peers , apart from size , i actually voted Velasquez in the poll , i beleive right at this present moment in time Velasquez is the best in the world , that can only be confirmed by him fighting the bet which he's yet to do .............

Lesnar , as much as it pains me to say this about such a limited stand up fighter , Lesnar's freakish speed , strength and size coupled with his wrestling ability makes him a handfull for any fighter in the world , like it or lump it thats a fact .

Dos Santos , excellent stand up , excellent ground game , freakish athletisism for his size , seems to have it all , i was a bit suprised and disapointed in how he dealt with Nelson when Nelson wouldnt fall in over in his last fight , and i beleive a durable HW with equal stand up skills to Dos Santos who can wrestle (i.e. a Velasquez or the likes) would hold the key to beating JDS , however stand up with this man and expect to get hurt .

Overeem , if this guy isnt on steroids !!! , he has to be in the top 5 , i mean he just looks better and better every time , he has superior stand up to most fighters in the world , looks like his body has completley evolved and he now looks a complete power house in the HW division .

Minotauro is on the slide now and if the UFC want to keep marketing him they should pick and choose his fights wisely nowadays , hell the guys certainly earned the right to a couple of easier fights and good paydays , Carwin's cardio is very very questionable after the Lesnar fight , and the blue print is now out on Shane Carwin , that said his hands are scary heavy and if he lands your in trouble !!! , Mir lacks wrestling and core body strength , other than them very very important attriubutes in todays HW divison he's got some serious serious skills and again if i were the UFC id match Frank wisely to keep him marketable .

    Thats my view ................ :good

Lesnar gets 15 votes and Barnett gets none?:lol:

    This forum is ridiculous.

Also, Nog shouldn't really be in this conversation at this point. Nor should Carwin.

I think it proves how fickle some MMA fans are.

Barnett's only big win in the last two years was against Yvel, who promptly went to the UFC just to lose two fights in a row.

Polls like this don't show that people don't highly rate Barnett, just that they don't rate him number 1. It isn't the same thing. It is very possible that many of those who took the poll put Josh at 2 or 3.

I'm not so much mystified at him not being picked #1, especially with Fedor still active; my point was just that Lesnar (an inferior HW to Barnett, IMO - even if his resume of late is better) is getting those votes over Fedor.

Yes but the mere fact that you concede that his resume of late is better should mean that you can at the very least understand the argument of rating Lesnar above Barnett.

I have Lesnar #1 based on recent accomplishments, though in the current confusing climate I could understand Fedor or Werdum instead.

Yes Fedor lost but he did not get beat up. You won't stay undefeated in MMA. Fedor just got careless. Brock won his last fight but he got his ass kicked big time. Carwin beat the living hell out of Brock. That fight could have been stopped. Brock appears to have a weak chin and weak skin. Fedor would beat brock with ease. Yes Brock is strong but he lacks skills. Brock is going to lose his next fight to cain.

First of all, if you read my comment I was replying to Sloth saying Brock wouldn't have been hyped in Strikeforce. Never said I had a problem with it. :good

The pot calling the kettle black, eh? If Brock Lesnar was in Strikeforce talking **** about Dana you would be riding his pole like a **** jockey. If you can't see the difference between a guy with ZERO experience fighting someone with Lashley's history and Lesnar being the monster that he is PROVING that he deserves to be where he is at then there is no hope for you.

Blinded by your hate. How sad. :-(

You have your head so far up Dana's ass every time you cough he spits up. My advice is to scrape that sand out of your vagina ASAP before you miss anymore good MMA. :yep

I think that Brock showed some heart in there, something that Fedor has shown so many times before. I wouldnt bring down Lesnar much just because he took a beating in the first round, he still came back and won...just another thing that is great about Fedor as well (coming back from behind to win)

Fedor is still on top of the list in any case.

if that scares you numbnut's you should run back and have a suckle of your mumz teet boy

  14. Its crazy, Brock hasnt really proven himself and needs to fight proven winners and fighters. Fighting Randy who is well past his prime and who looses close to half of his fights anyway and Shane Carwin who isnt a proven fighter isnt enough to make a fighter one of the best in the world.

Brocks recent accomplishments isnt all that flash, Mir is damaged goods, Randy is well past his prime, Herring is welll past as well and Carwin is really still a green fighter. Dont believe these hype people.

Look at the actual fights and see that Brock has below average standup, has only shown one submission and basically the rest is all bout takedowns and ground and pounds. Brock really has a limited arsenal.

Lesnar based on his record really shouldnt even be in the top ten and definately shouldnt be above Fedor, Werdum, Overeem, Barnett, and JDS.

    I agree with everything above.

I wonder if people will relegate Brock outside the top ten when he looses one more time. My guess is NO, since he is a Zuffa fighter.

If Brock was with Strikeforce he wouldnt be regarded as a top ten like Lashley. On the flip side if Lashley was with the UFC then he would be regarded as number one...........................irrespective of skills and achievements.
