Andy Lee's loss to Brian Vera was probably an anomoly, and it happened 2 1/2 years ago. Is this kid ever going to step up?

Wasn't he supposed to fight the winner of Barker - Macklin?

Unfortunately, until he sorts out his stamina/clinching issues he has no business stepping up.

Brian Vera is no push-over though, hes a good fighter. Id like to see a rematch actually, then a step up for Lee considering he wins

It seems he can't get the big fights. Apparently he was on stand by for the Sturm fight if Lorenzo pulled out.

Macklin is a real possibility in 2011. He should have been given the nod to fight Barker for the EBU eliminator but the corrupt shites gave it to the guy who Lee had just beat in Belgcham (sp). He has let his discontent known about this decision and said he thinks he would beat Barker and would love to fight him but reckons Barker wants no part of him (maybe due to the fact he had beaten him in the amateurs)

He tried making fights with Duddy too but he isn't interested. He'll get a big fight sooner or later, seems he is just fighting for the sake of staying busy at the moment. It's very frustrating as a Lee fan.

I don't question Lee's ambition, just seems the big fights haven't come his way yet. Personally, I'd love to see a rematch with Vera in the mean time.

To me it seems like the Vera fight was a lot more of a set-back than it needed to be.

He'd get handled by both of them.

I think the set back wasn't so much the loss to Vera but the failed eye operatoin after he beat Gibbs. Gibbs was a decent opponent to take straight after the Vera loss and then after the eye situation and long spell out he lost his way a bit. He is looking sharp this year though. In the brief 2 rounds he was in with Thiam it looked like he learned to progress on the inside but now we won't really know if that is true or not until we see him in with the likes of Oral/Barker/Macklin,N'kam/Demers/Zbik etc

    Lee would definitely beat Barker.

Macklin would be a tough match up. Could go either way, I'd slightly favour Lee.

This is the first time i heard about this. I knew he had scar tissue removed, but I did not know there were problems.

Steward had this kid way over-hyped, but even when I disregard the hype I still think he is a promising middleweight.

It's a pity our disagreement won't be settled in September. If they fight in the future Macklin will most likely stop him.
