Well I haven't posted here in a while as there's been little in the way of excitement but **** me, what a tremendous comeback last night. Absolutely thoroughly enjoyed that last night and a timely reminder that boxing is the only sport in the world that can provide that kind of drama. There was so much emotion and passion on show - it reminded me of the night that Bruno beat McCall to finally win his world title. Fair play to Ricky Burns, I didn't give him much hope but he showed so much mental strength to haul himself somehow through that fight and deservedly become champion. Twice or three times I thought he was about to get stopped. The time he got caught on the ropes around the 9th especially. I thought, right, a brave gallant effort that has ultimately ended in failure but time and again the kid stuck in there and triumphed against the odds. Congratulations to Ricky Burns and all his fans :good Saturday night nights are just tremendous. For me, there's a different kind of atmosphere to them than a lot of the run-of-the-mill stuff we've been getting on FNF lately. Absolutely loved last night - there was something quite special about it and one of those occasions where I was happy to be proved wrong.
Friday Night Fights never felt right to me. Saturday nights is where boxing belongs and should stay. But what a night indeed. Welcome back by the way.
