Win you rate higher.....Morales over Pacquiao or Barrera over Hamed?

He was on the downward slide and certainly wasn't prime

 

I can agree with that. Shot he was not. Shot fighters don't turn in career best performances against the best opponent of their career. That doesn't happen.

 

I don't agree that that version of Pac was better than a prime Barrera... that version of Pac was very limited and relied too much on his left hand. I also think it is evident that in his loss to Zahir Raheem 6 months later he had clearly lost something.... it most certainly wasn't a prime Morales we was looking at

 

This was still the Pacquiao that took Barrera to the cleaners, and who maybe deserved the nod over Marquez at 126lbs. Pacquiao was formidable at this point in time, but would later go on to improve himself further.

Perhaps Barrera of 2000 was the best opponent of Morales career, that's what he said on record, but he certainly wasn't shot for the first Pacquiao fight,

 

Maybe shot is slightly strong but he was certainly on the downward curve of his career. A prime Morales doesn't get outscored by raheem

Well i think i was exaggerating a little Dont think he would whup Morales but i think he wins a decision maybe razor close or maybe convincing but close. My point was that Marquez is on par with Morales and Barrera. Resume wise just a couple nothces below but pretty much in the same league. I had him beating Pac by 2 points in the 2nd fight and 1 point in ther first. Although a draw was fair, Marquez should have got at least 1 win in the 2 fights.

And big wins over a still very good Barrera,Casamayor and Juan Diaz 2x. He doesnt have the official win over Pac like Morales but overall he did better against Pac than Barrera,Morales.

 

Both great wins, people underestimate how good Hamed was now, what a big puncher he was and write off his achievements, partly because he never liked him as a person. Barrera had to fight a very disciplined defensively sound fight against 1 of the divisions biggest ever hitters, great win.

Morales Pac win was great, I remember at the time though people were not rating Pacquaio after the Morales/Marquez fights though. Right after the Morales loss, I made a prediction list of fighters who'll be top 5 P4P'ers in the next 3-4years and had Pacquaio as 1 of the fighters on it due to his age, what he had left and his potential, I got laughed at for this prediction, how times change

I voted Morales over Pacquiao, i rate that win very highly
