like i says, there might not be that many willing to fight, im not really convinced about that but its by the by, my thread aint a knock on vitali. i just dont like the recent surge in people hyping briggs up to be something he isnt. we all know vitali will knock briggs out, it is just a queston of when.
recently? you was talking about how Briggs is a powder puncher and history shows that he couldnt KO anyone remotely good. Solis or Haye havent even faced anyone with pulse yet
But this thread can be easily interpreted as you putting down Briggs to discredit Vitali. I, and few on ESB think that this will be a great win for VK. But you can't refute that Briggs is a big puncher, and therefore dangerous - especially early. Plus it's not like VK is in is prime at his age. Others above have pointed out solid HWs who either won't fight VK or have other commitments. So what are you trying to prove here? This is hardly an odd opponent for a champ at this stage of his career. Example: in his early to mid 30s Ali faught title defenses vs Jean-Pierre Coopman (sounds like a chef ), R Dunn, A Evangelista... and those were simpler times. If those 3 were top contenders then that was a more over hyped era than I thought :yep
why would i want to discredit vitali? his resume speaks for itself. you have pretty much made my point, what i am "trying to prove" if you will, is that there arent many top level heavies who are worse than briggs at this moment in time. so i disagree it will be a great win. this bull about people not willing to fight vitali as well, im not convinced that there are 15 heavies who wont fight him, BUT even if they where, it doesnt add any credit to briggs. its like caballero struggles to find opponents, but it doesnt mean the people who fight him are great fighters. i expect history to increase the value of this win, but at the present i dont think it means anything. its no surprise that people can not name 10 heavyweights who are worse than briggs, without having to stoop to the levels of zuri lawrence and danny williams.
i never said he was a powder puncher. i am saying that you are stupid thinking he would kayo valuev. recently peter kayoed that aguilera feller, a better opponent than anyone briggs has faced recently. arreola kayoed minto and mccline, again better than any recent briggs opponent. haye kayoed ruiz who is better than anyone briggs has fought recently. solis kayoed barret who is better than anyone briggs has faced recently. like i said, im not saying briggs has no power, only an idiot would say that. i am saying he wouldnt knock out valuev. an my staement is backed up by history. over the last 10 years briggs stopped liakhovic in the last minute, and stopped a fatigued mercer. what else has he really done?
What you doing luf? Trying everything you can to actually defend Haye? I already told you in other threads that Briggs is available as really the only fighter willing to fight Vitali. Haye Valuev Solis Povetkin Adamek ^^^^Those 5 won't fight a Klits. Even though Adamek people have talk to Shelly about Vitali vs Adamek in march of next year in which that was a few days ago. But when Vitali was available, Adamek don't know if he was ready. Chagaev is Haye mandatory challenger so why don't Haye fight him? See theres a differents between Vitali fighting Briggs and Haye is fighting Harrison. Not real top ten fighters in Solis, Haye, Valuev, Adamek, Povetkin don't want to fight either Klitchskos. While Chagaev, Adamek, Solis, Povetkin wants to fight Haye. Haye had alot of options while Vitali had little options. So come on luf please stop trying in your heart to defend Haye. You may say You hate Haye cause he's fighting Harrison but seeing how you make a thread like this is telling me again that you trying to defend Haye.
ray, how is me saying briggs is not a worthy contender, me defending haye? i want haye to lose his next fight. he is a ****. vitali and wlad tried making the fight and he ran like a sissy. instead of telling me what options haye has, just answer the thread question. name 10 contenders who are worse than briggs. im not knocking vitali, he is keeping active and fighting a named opponent who was a champ 4 year ago. i am saying that i wont give vitali any credit when he wins. just so you have it clear ray, haye is a *****, vitali has done all he can to make the fight. but none of that means he deserves credit when he beats briggs.
Irrelevant. As well as being able to beat Briggs, they must be willing to face Vitali. Two come to mind that meet the first criterion but not the second. (Haye and Povetkin)
see this is the thing. lets say it is true that the top 15 heavies in the world will not fight vitali. and lets say you rank briggs as number 16(shouldnt be that high but lets just say) then vitali has still only beaten the 16th best heavy. this is what i am saying. props to vitali for tryna fight other people, props to briggs for manning up and taking the fight. but lets not say vitali deserves much credit if and when he beats briggs.
I also won't give Vitali credit if he beats Briggs. I think most here won't give Vitali credit for beating Briggs. But you got to admit, style wise Briggs has a better shot of beating Vitali then Harrison of beating Haye. Vitali has to survive after the 4th round cause in the first 4 rounds That's when Briggs is at is dangerous While Harrison? lol i mean seriouslly? I don't have to say it. Oh and i think Briggs can ko Valuev. If Haye can stunned Valuev badly, why can't Briggs do it better?
i disagree, vitali is pretty much unbeatable atm, he would only lose to a quick athletic type in my eyes, and only then if they fought a perfect disciplined fight, and only then purely because of his age. haye has a glass chin, and harrison can bang when he is focused. in all reality i expect haye and k2 to still be the 3 beltholders, but of the 3 i think haye has the biggest chance to lose, just because k2 are too dominant atm. because briggs is a different fighter to haye, i dont see briggs having the movement to get past valuevs jab.
Who do you think has ever hit Valuev with even half of Briggs power? Haye? Haye hasnt KO´d Ruiz. His coach throw the towel. He wouldnt have KO´d in the time left either.. Barrett barely survived a round with Ustinov and hell even Valuev and Cliff Couser KO´d him. Minto isnt much better than Calloway
just leave it mate. you obviously think briggs power makes shavers look like maliganggi. i cant be arsed with you anymore. you think briggs would knock out valuev, i dont.
arreola was the only good prospect and he beat him briggs is a hard puncher that will have an asthma attack in the ring but 2 fights ago he almost died in 10 seconds or so left knocked the guy through the ropes and dude hit his head on the bell lol boring fight scraed briggs was gonna die but the man got some determination and a hard punch let em go. Vit cant possibly get anymore credit then he got from fighting lennox theres no one else left. all we can do is just enjoy his technical skill and laugh at him try to move like he a welter weight in slow motion but still faster then the bums in the division. appreciate the ****, this is a classic end of the heavy weight era the big guys are playing basket ball. no highschools coaches are saying hey you want to box? there saying we will give you an A if you play for our team. Real talk. The aggressive kids get pulled to the side and asked to play running back and line backer. They not even pulling cats into track no moe they want those track stars to learn how to play qb
