Right so before the year is out, we will see the top three Hw’s in the world put their belts on the line.

The first fight is this Saturday when Wladimir Klitschko puts his WBO and IBF titles on the line against Samuel Peter. In October we see the older Klit, Vitali, putting his WBC titles on the line against Shannon Briggs. Rounding off the year we have David Haye defending his WBA belt against a TBA, although it looks incredibly likely it will be against fellow Brit Audley Harrison (the two have a news conference tomorrow), with the fighting possibly taking place in November.

So which of the three challengers has the best chance of winning a belt?

Samuel Peter has seriously hurt Wlad in the past, Briggs is coming off the back of 3 straight KO wins and is always dangerous, and Harrison has the power to test Haye’s ‘suspect’ chin.

While I think all three champions will retain their belts, personally, I believe Peter has the best chance of coursing an upset. He knows he has the power to hurt Wlad, and he may feel that if he connects he may put the big man down. Briggs, IMO has the least likely chance of winning. Vitali will control the fight at his own pace and get the KO when he wishes.

Many on here will say Harrison has the best chance as Haye is the weakest champion (which I agree with). But Haye is fighting the weakest challenger by far. Harrison has been beaten by Rogan and Williams, and was KO’ed in 3 by Michael Sprott. Indeed, while he avenged this loss, he was getting schooled throughout the fight until he managed the last round KO.

So, which of these men have the best chance of coursing an upset? I’m not asking which 1 is likely to win as they are all heavy underdogs, but which of the three COULD pull out the upset win?

    good question.

atm i just see wlad and vitali as unbeatable by anyone bar themselves and maybe haye(if he grew a pair)

haye on the other hand can be beaten.

peter and briggs will both suffer huge punishment before quitting IMO. i also expect haye to destryoy audley.

vitali will not ever lose to briggs.

peter and harrison have a punchers chance in their fights. wlads defence is far superior to hayes so i say haye has the biggest chance to lose.

The one punch in combination with Haye's chin and defence issue, that's all... And Audrey doesn't fight, he trows an occasional punch.

Wlad is at the top of his game, as is Haye. Only Vitali is on the downward side. Briggs doesn't have much of a chance after round 2, but Vitali is aging, so who knows. Fraudley is just too awful a fighter to compete beyond the reality TV/ British level. Peter is the best fighter of the three but he's fighting the wrong guy. Wlad is virtually unbeatable at this point.

Wlad is not now, and has never been unbeatable. I doubt Peter will beat him but that says much more about Peter's poor skill set and conditioning than it does Wlad.

Wlad has not got great defense, he is just very good at using his pawing outstretched arm to keep small opponents away. Good defense is about upper body movement and footwork. Wlad has neither. He isn't slipping punches to land his own, he's just diving backwards whenever an opponent twitches and clinching if they try and get close. Against a man closer to his size he'd get KO'd doing that.

1-Audley has the best chance for the upset. He's a bit bigger than Haye, and Haye can be reckless. It's quite possible that a lucky punch catches Haye, who is not all that durable himself. That said, the most likely case is that Audley gets smashed.

2-Briggs has the next best chance. Briggs has a big punch, and can throw a quick counter. Vitali is pretty sturdy though, so it's not likely. Most likely is that Vitali weathers the early Briggs storm and stops Brigs after he is exhausted.

3-Peter is short, and does not have much skill. He has about as close to 0 chance as you can get. Wlad's chin is very crackable, but he hides it behind being tall, jabbing and clinching. It would be difficult for a decent fighter to overcome the jab and grab, much less a skill-less clubber like Peter. Most likely scenario..jab...jab...hold...jab...stand around...hold,..hold..jab...Peter quits.

Davo - have you even seen Wlad fight the last 5 years? He has far and away the best defense in the division and exceptional footwork. It's amazing how deluded and misinformed the Wlad haters are.

    That's sort of subjective.
It depends on what you classify as a good defense:

If a good defense is not getting hit, then Wlad's defense is top notch.

If you think of a good defense as blocking, slipping parrying, and moving, then Wlad does not really do those things. (nor does he need to)

Wlad's defense is his size, and his wise use of it. He keeps his left arm out to keep opponents away. He effectively uses the jab too. I would not call his footwork exceptional, but it's good enough for what he does, He always keeps himself set to punch. But he's not all very mobile (that's not his style anyway) Then of course, there is the clinch! Wlad's ultimate defensive weapon. Wlad is so big that when he drapes himself on you, there is nothing you can do. Fans don't like the clinch, but it works. And a commitment to doing what works is why Wlad is so damn hard to beat.

WTF are you talking about?!?!? I've seen almost all his fights since Corrie Sanders and his defense is horrible. Being tall and having long arms is not defense. It's amazing how deluded and misinformed Wlad lovers can be. I know he's white and all, but you don't HAVE to love him quite so much.

Peter has a moderate puncher's chance and Harrison even less of one. Briggs has virtually none.

None of these three are succeeding in their upcoming challenges on points.
