Is Mayweathers Victory over Mosley forgotten lately?

Floyd ducks the top fighters for so long that more gets made of him actually facing someone decent...Mosely was just one of many top challengers Cotto fought and I don't remember him or anyone else acting like he was the GOAT because he beat him...

The fact is, floyd should have fought Cheato, Williams, Cotto, Cintron, Pac, etc (probably kicking himself for not fighting Martinez) but, Mosely is the first top WW he's fought in the 5yrs he's been in the division. He gets the credit but, a 38 year old Mosely doesn't make up for his history of ducks...Should he actually fight and beat Pac, he will get way more credit than he deserves given he wouldn't fight him at his peak and given his cherry pickin' ways...

 

Mayorga isn't the face of American boxing and frankly nobody cares what he says because he is a nobody. The public ignoring him completely and only paying attention when he's getting his ass kicked by De La Hoya, Trinidad, and Mosley is satisfaction enough. Floyd is the face of American boxing and people listen to what he says. Floyd wants to play the villain and is being treated as such. If you were a neutral person and not such a big Floyd fan, you'd know all of this. It's not that difficult to comprehend. Ask hardcore ESB Floyd fans Daryl and Toopretty. They didn't allow themselves be blinded by their manlove for Floyd.

It's true some Asians eat cats and dog and blacks stereotypically eat fried chicken and watermelon. It's not what is said but HOW IT IS SAID. In Floyd's case it was said in a belittling and derogatory way to that culture/race. THAT IS WHAT MAKES IT RACIST.

 

I don't think anyone has forgotten but his most recent comments and the way he's proceeded in "making a fight with Manny" has always been a bit suspect. Making the fight with Shane was easy becuase Floyd wanted to fight Shane and was able to dictate whatever he wanted. When he negoitated with Manny he didn't have the leverage he's use to.

Floyd is ONE of the best. Most feel he's in the second position as P4P best at the moment. The guy whom he is chosing not to fight is considered the best in the world.

This is about making the correct call. Did he make a racist remark? Or was it stereotype? You'd be completely stupid to say he's a racist. I can post pictures and videos of him interacting in a friendly way with all types of colored people all day long. Call it like it is. If you want to call him a villain, fine. That is an accurate assessment. A racist? NO. Not only would that make you appear uneducated but obnoxious, hateful, and presumptuous as well.

Whether he's the face of Boxing or not, heckling is part of sports culture. You mean to tell me he's not allowed to bust people's balls when it's done in the context of a joke or spirit of competition? ****, Eminem is the face of Hip Hop. I never called Floyd a racist. I don't believe he is a racist. My point was what Floyd said is racist. He didn't even realize it and that's why the quick apology. What Floyd is is a filthy rich man with an inflated ego who is beginning to lose touch with reality. He thinks he can get away with anything and it takes a public backlash to bring him back to earth. If he didn't realize what he said was wrong, he wouldn't have apologized.

Hecklng is a part of sports culture. WESTERN SPORTS CULTURE. It is absolutely foreign to most East Asian countries where RESPECT FOR YOUR OPPONENT is held to a very high standard. Plus what Floyd said went beyond what is standard for heckling. There's a reason for the worldwide backlash.

Just because you approve and participate in a certain behavior doesn't make it right. Just because a certain rapper does it doesn't make it right. 2 wrongs also don't make a right. Society has standards and although it's not perfect and it is inconsistent, it will for the most part side with good rather than bad. Floyd wants to play villain and has said it himself to sell PPV and be the cash cow. Society has treated him accordingly. Floyd made his money and he has sold his character. Floyd is rich, Floyd fans can be happy about having a great boxer to admire, Floyd haters can be happy they can tease him for being an obvious ducker. Everyone should be happy.

 

It's not forgotten lately. It is often downgraded due to Mosley's age & inactivity, like many wins are due to some reason or another. Some people are just like that.

But Mayweather is given criticism mainly because of the perception that he is avoiding Pacquiao. Maybe there is more to it and they're going to fight in 2011, but Mayweather hasn't exactly said a lot of things to change the belief that he is avoiding Manny.

And being obnoxious and making lame ethnic/racial jokes doesn't help either. Some fans just have a tendency to underrate fighters & their wins if they don't like that fighter, and overrate those of the fighters they do like. It's just the way it is.

 

Just because you don't find it offensive it doesn't meant that it is not, if Pacquio were to use d N word and crack jokes about chicken and water melons, what FMJ will say? And us, do we think it will b funny? Of course not, FMJ is an idiot and to top it all he is a racist too.

 

He fought Mosely and beat him senseless ,on the other hand Pac did Duck Mosley twice so how come people don't talk more about that ... point blank.

It took him forever to finally get in the ring with a real threat, and by then Mosley looked old and shot anyway. He gets credit for taking the fight, but should we really be jumping all over his dick for it? He's been a welterweight for 5+ years, he's supposed to fight Mosley. He should have done it a long time ago.
