:huh You've lost me. I'm commenting on Margarito's punch resistance, not whether he had lost some hand-speed or not prior to the Miguel Cotto fight.

no. margo is significantly bigger than pac but i know that pac's good footwork, speed and combinations will be a great advantage. i wasn't nervous when pac fought hatton, cotto and clottey (lol).

but i was really nervous when he fought oscar, which turned out to be a one-sided match :D

What are you ****ing thick? You stupid? And you had to add all this smilies just to make yourself look like a childish idiot. Good one, sonny. You're too old for this ****, fan. Watch the ****ing fights. Know the story. Don't feed me nonsense, chump. You KNOW what the **** I'm talking about. Sit down.

This is an easy match up. Margo without loaded gloves is nothing more than a flat footed slugger. He has never had KO power, pac could box circles around him all night. This fight will be mad boring. Similar to when Haye fought valuev.

Addie, Addie.....me and you can argue and go back and forth with eachother on the topic of MAB and each take the extreme opposite ends of an opinion but argue logically on each end.......

san rafael is just a pure troll who's responses in just this thread proove he does'nt know much if at all about the fighters being mentioned much less the styles and the history of the fights they've been in.

The only thing this guy knows is Pac, and I doubt very seriously he's even educated in in the intracacies of even his wins and losses.
Dont waist too much time debating trolls who are not really boxing fans.

Addie, I'm staring to get concerned you're really just a one dimensional thinker. Say it ain't so. You haven't seen the fights, have you? You know very little about Margarito's career. You misused the term "baseless" didn't you?

You may be right. We do know that this is not the Mayweather fight for Pacquiao and he will have the full tilt benefit of his PED's!:deal:hey

Well, Pac is a warrior and fights like one, and i think that once Margarito starts to rev up a bit (Im assuming he is at least close to the fighter he was.... people shouldnt toss aside the possibility that hes not the same after the williams, cotto, and mosley fights given his age, years in the sport and punishment absorbed. Fact is, we dont know how much he has left and how close to 'Margarito' he will be, but i personally feel that he will be fine)

So, assuming hes the Margarito we all know, and he starts closing that distance by the 4th, 5th rounds.... and starts landing some shots on Pac and his body, i think Pac should still be able to use the ring, his speed of hand and foot, and simply outmanuver and outbox margarito. However, the reason i can see this becoming a rough affair is the moment Pac gets hit, and then bangs his gloves together in an act of defiance, and instead of sticking to moving and boxing, starts trying to be a bit TOO assertive against a guy who will be well and away the biggest man hes ever fought.

I think if Pac gets drug into that kind of fight with Marg, that it can turn into an interesting affair.... People shouldnt forget that Marg can pull out 100 punches a round at his best when he needs to, IMO will be walking through most of pacs punches, and if he can lure Pac into a fight and away from a skillset display, i think it will turn into an interesting fight.

However, with Roach there to help guide Pac I cant see this happening too much. But the reverse might be just as interesting. Cotto is very comfortable being the matador, he is very effective at fighting while backing up, throwing combos then going to the other part of the ring, throwing combos then backing up, and he can look superb doing this. The problem is he cant keep it up and he gets fatigued, Im not so sure Pac can fight going backwards as well as Cotto can, so i will be interested in seeing how Pac will deal with a guy whos game is to close the distance, be in your face and overwelm you..... i think it will show much improvement on pacs part if hes able to sidestep, and outbox Margarito for all 12.

But these are all the 'worst case scenarios' im seeing here, in all reality Pac should have the skills, stamina, and speed to do what he needs to do here, and i pretty much see him darting in, darting out, circling, and matching up well overall with Margarito. If they were at all close in size this fight wouldnt be competetive in the least. all i ment was that if Pac strays from the gameplan, this could turn into a rougher then expected outting.

And as far as people going overboard in their predictions, i just happen to think that the predictions i see of a Pac stoppage within 7 or whatnot is my basis for saying i think people are overlooking Marg. I think Marg will make it interesting down the stretch and im fairly confident that he sees the final bell.

    Just IMO :good

You have stated that Margarito almost certainly won't be able to take a good shot now that he has been broken down by Shane Mosley. Your exact words were, "Margarito's punch resistance seal has been thoroughly cracked and crushed open?". This is to say Margarito can no longer take the same shots he had before because his "seal" has been cracked. Both Boxed Ears and myself have offered countless exceptions to disprove this theory, and considering Margarito hasn't actually been hurt or wobbled since losing to Mosley, I would go as far to say that your statements were baseless. Unfounded.

We can get pedantic about what "baseless" actually means but the point is fairly clear. I'm saying that Margarito can still conceivably take hard shots from good punchers and not get knocked out. You have said otherwise.

Side note, I've seen Margarito fight Williams, Cotto, Mosley, Clottey, Cintron I/II, Lujan, Johnson, Santos II, Diaz, and some of his older fights. Not that anyone should suspect me of lying, but a certain Terry Norris enthusiast on here sent me a Margarito career set many moons ago.

Im not a Pac fan but I`ll comment anyway.

Margarito is tailor made for Pacquiao, a slow, come forward fighter that has a really bad defence.

If you had asked me before the Marg-Mosely fight who would win, I would have said Margarito, he looked awesome vs Cotto & I would have feared for Manny`s safety as he likes to trade too much at times... but vs Shane, Margarito`s punch resistance looked to be shattered & he hasnt fought since that fight so the ring rust will be a factor too.

I would much rather a Floyd-Pac fight as I feel Floyd is the only guy that would beat Pac right now but I dont see that fight ever happening unfortunately so yes, I`ll be rooting for Margarito to do the damage vs Pacquiao... but I wont be betting on it, thats for sure.

I hope Im wrong but I see Pacquiao stopping Margarito in about 8 rds, you cant take the abuse Margarito likes to take in a fight & expect to stay vertical vs Pacquiao, all logic points to a Pac domination, lets hope not tho.

    :good

I wouldn't put my life on it. Give Pacquiao an easy target and he'll load up BIGTIME. I also think that the amount of punishment Shane inflicted will have taken something out of that cheating *******, Margarito.

I hope he gets put out for the count of 100 and I'm not even a Pacquaio fan!
