You couldn't pay me to re-watch that fight. I'm a fan of Andrade, and it was heartbreaking to watch him lose like that. The post-fight press conference didn't help either, with him crying. I sure hope he becomes a titlist one day. He deserves it.
As a Mayweather fan and Pacquaio fan I'm praying Pac doesn't lose here and mess up the mega-fight. Pac should win, firstly he should box circles around any Margarito and secondly Margarito looked a faded against Garcia and is now 32, 2years after his Cotto victory, which may well have been assisted by bricks. It seems like a safe fight, but the fact Margarito is so much bigger, taller, rangier than anyone Pacquaio has faced brings a problem or 2. Margarito is known to be able to take insane amounts of punnishment to land his own meaty shots and his stamina at his best was amazing. His uppercut as Pacquaio comes inside could be a real problem too, plus he has a right hand something most Pacquaio opponents haven't had. He's also beat better versions of Pacquaio's last 2 opponents himself
Bro I'm serious . Sorry If I offended you but youre great. Let me know if you ever write a book or a play. God knows that **** will be entertaining . You remind me of Lawrence Fishbourne for some reason . I just happen to think youre wrong though and that this fight will only be entertaining because Margarito is going to get the living **** beat out of him in lamest terms. He's big yes but what good is size if you are truly one of the slowest fighters in boxing against one of the fastest in boxing and your only defense was blocking punches with your chin that has now done all it could. I love your tastes for the theatrical but common sense is really all one needs on this topic.:good
No, it was Kessler that really did it. Then that feather-fisted Mack got all the credit (pure speculation) then Bute took the thunder from Mack and Kessler with a body-to-brain shot. This all comes from Kessler. Which, of course, means that Calzaghe had a greater chin than LaMotta and could've murdered a prime RJJ.
Not really. Judging from his Garcia fight...it seems he's a bit faster, but not near his usual workrate self, but a bit more responsible in his defense and his power seems improved in the sense that he's putting more torque in his shots as opposed to those loopy arm punches he was throwing before (ala P.Will) He's actually using a nice guard to block punches. He's throwing a jab. And his punch resistance seemed fine. People thinking his chin is cracked are ridiculous. These sort of fighters are typically followed with weight problems. Dramatically going up and down in weight in between fights is something that hinders you from taking shots. Margarito doesn't really fit into this equation. He's living healthy enough. The OLD Margarito would've beaten Pacquiao up easily. The new Margarito isn't quite the machine he used to be and won't be able to pull off enough punishment to slow Pacman down and he'll be there to be hit. My only scenario that I can see Margarito scoring those telling blows is when Pac likes to put on a show and just sorta lays there against the ropes to take shots like he did vs. Cotto and in some spurts against Clottey. Margarito is more than willing to oblige those opportunities and will do so effectively...too much of that **** and Pac buried his own ass. I'm also not sure how this catchweight will play into Pac's speed and mobility and Margo's overall capability...will Pac be effective and will Margo be drained? Hard to say...this is far from a done deal. The last time I was this positive someone would win against Margo was Cotto and it seemed I was right...for a few rounds. EDIT: Believe it or not...Margarito was using head movement and feints against Garcia!
Some people seem to think taking a punch is an exact science. You can be completely infallible at one point in time, but once you get it cracked, then your days as the iron man are well and truely over. Boxing history paints a different story. Can you imagine if ESB was around in 1997 when Marco Antonio Barrera was knocked out by Junior Jones? Jones was a respectable hitter, but he wasn't the Carlos Zarate of the Super Bantamweight division. He was no second coming of Julian Jackson. You can bet your ass that Barrera would be painted as a china-chinned fraud, and people would claim his days of taking punishment were over. They'd be completely wrong, of course.
Not nervous, Pac should win.....and, even before Shane beat Margo, Pac already thought he could beat Margarito.
