Very hard to say. I voted for Perez because of the match-ups, he already beat Agbeko and IMO he can repeat, while Darchinyan brutally dominated every Mexican(-American) fighter he has ever faced, he's just an expert of that boxing culture. If these two get through, I expect Perez to be too big, too smart and too powerful for an aging Darchinyan.

On the other hand, if Mares beats Veteran Vic, I expect him to overcome Perez as well as he did look better the first time around. Interesting times for the 118-ers, such a shame Top Rank didn't allow Donaire and Montiel to join and Moreno and the awesome Hasegawa weren't invited.

Really looking forward to this. Bantamweight is so deep that you could easily have had an 8-man elimination tournament but it seems churlish to complain when you're getting fights like this.

I think I might go with Mares - he really showed me something in his last fight. I thought he would get overwhelmed in the later rounds but that's when he started to pour it on.

Perez could definitely get it done but I think Abner will be the last man standing. Whoever is, is going to have a lot of big fights to look forward to.

Thats cuz he never ****ed with the wrong Mexican...Had he faced Fernando Montiel...you're comment would be incorrect, and it's going to be anyway after Mares is finished with him :good

Either Mares or Perez. I'd say Mares though.

    Mares,but let's hope it doesn't become a "Super" 6 disaster.

Very hard to pick a winner but i'm going with Agbeko for the upset here i think he matches up well with the winner of Vic-Mares and that he will beat Perez by close decision this time around.

Maybe Montiel should've stayed at 115 to **** with undisputed champion Darchinyan and make my comment incorrect, but he didn't. He didn't even face Mijares who was supposed to school Vic but got crushed instead. My comment is pretty solid and a loss at 34 at a higher weight won't change it, the prime Raging Bull crushed his Mexican competition and I still give him a pretty good chance.

  14. Showtime follows its tournament to determine the 2nd best SMW with a tournament to determine the 3rd best BW? Color me disinterested.

Last i heard, it was Vic who ducked Montiel, but whatever...Montiel is abaout to face the man who embarassed Vic anyway :deal and Montiel would have still crushed him at 115 had they face off, and he would brutally retire him if they ever fought now.
