can the master boxer pep take all the tough shots thrown by williams to cruise to a win or does williams destroy pep?

The question answers itself ! If Willie Pep thought he had a chance to beat the 8 pound
heavier ike Williams, Pep coukld have had that bout in a heartbeat...Pep knew better...
I saw both of them in their primes, and while PeP was a better P4P fighter, Ike Williamns
with his weight advantage, hit too hard for Willie.
They could have made a fortune in that matchup, but Pep knew better !

Williams is probably too big and strong but he was troubled by good boxers and never quite was able to get the better of Willie Joyce, who was beaten by Pep.

Pep is not completely without a chance here.

Willie Pep took on and beat Willie Joyce, because Willie Jouce alkthough
a great 135 lb boxer, did not hit any harder than some featherweights.
So Willie took on Joyce, just the exact same way ray Robinson took on
the light punching Joey Maxim, instead of an Archie Moore, Lloyd Marshall
etc...No light puncher outboxes a Willie Pep !
    Boxing is all about styles...

This would be like the two winning Saddler fights, except it would be quicker.Ike is too strong , and hits too hard.

A few great fighters from the past were aware of what their weight and size limitations were and stayed in their ideak weight division, like Monzon and Hagler.

Sammy Angott also TKO'd Williams while Pep and Angott went to a close decision. Ike always had problems with Freddie Dawson.

Ike suffered a torn abdominal muscle in his loss to Angott ,he had previously beaten him twice.I see no relevant form line here.

Both split decisions. Angott's body blows supposedly caused the injury. I'm just saying that Pep may not be as outmatched here as it may seem on paper. He did pretty good against the top lightweights of his day.

Which is why I wouldn't completely count out Ike's chances against some of the top welterweights.
