Whats wrong with that? Montiel has a far better resume than Donaire, is a 3 division champ, and the man to beat in arguabaly the deepest division in boxing today...Montiel deserves to be in the top 10 and is mad underrated, while Donaire is getting waay overrated for one win that happened 3 years ago, and has fought a bunch of bums/overmatched smaller opponents ever since. Donaire shouldnt even be in the top 10.
Anything exceeding 10 is pointless to me so I'll only comment on these guys, Anarci. Marquez is too high. He got thoroughly spanked by Floyd Mayweather and then turned in a passable performance against Diaz, who hasn't been on a great run of form himself. He'd probably be around 7-8 on my list. Fernando Montiel should be at the lower end of the top 10 considering he scored his dramatic win over Hozumi out of nowhere, and hadn't looked that consistent beforehand. Too high. Andre Ward dominated and embarrassed Miranda, Kessler, and now Green. He'd have to be a little bit higher for me, but other than that, not a bad list.
I actually don't think it's a bad list. Sure, some guys are too high or too low, but mostly around the right general areas. For me, there's more distance between 2 and 3 than there is between 3 and 30, so there's a lot of room to move guys around. I'm surprised people are giving you flack about having Montiel that high. He's unbeaten in quite a while, has won titles in three weight classes and recently beat a P4P top 15 guy.
what???:huh did you read my post? i never said anything about donaire being a better fighter than montiel.. i was just saying i wouldn't have either of them in the top 10. montiel has a good resume, but these fighters have a better one... pacquiao mayweather marquez p.williams cotto w.klitschko darchinyan froch margarito mosley hopkins haye adamek plus a load of fighters who should be getting the fights but are being avoided. i'd have montiel between 14 and 18, but donaire shouldn't be anywhere near the top 25.
Montiel hadn't been fighting top tier opposition prior to beating Hozumi, and he looked pretty terrible against Valdez.
STFU your just butt hurt cause i dont have Adamek higher, infact half the people on this thread spitting out insults are Adamke or Haye nuthuggers.
Shut up ***** i know 10x more about boxing than youll ever know. Lets see your list smart guy? Im sure it could easily be picked apart.
Bottom line he has a better resume than most in the sport. He proved hes still got a lot left in knocking out Hasegawa who was in alot of peoples top 10. Give the man credit hes been around a long time and doesnt appear to be washed up.
Well he did get whupped but as you know that was against arguably the best fighter in the world and fighting 2 weight classes above his natural weight. Mayweather would make most look bad in his own weight much less moving up 2 classes. Besides even the Marquez seems to be on the downside he gets this by default. None of the other guys have done enough to pass him. In other eras Marquez would not be number 3. Ward has some good recent wins but lets weight and check things out. Beating Miranda and Green were good wins but hardly worthy of a top 5 ranking. The Kessler win was impressive and thats why i have him in my top 10. If he beats Dirrell impressively hes in the top tier. Montiel has done more than the other guys around him, Not consistent? Hes been unbeaten for a while.
