Could Marco Antonio Barrara or Erik Morales have defeated Salvador Sanchez in head to head competition?

I haven't seen enough of Sal to comment, but he made short work of Gomez who was arguably the best 122lbs fighter ever moving up.

im thinking a decision because morales, barrera and sanchez where very durable.

but that about as much help as i am good for. sanchez is just so mysterious.

No, I do not believe so. Sanchez was too strong, composed, and accurate at feather.

I think Sanchez beats them and should certainly be favourite but its not out the realms of possibility

Morales has the better chance, for what it's worth I think Sal eats Barrera's children

    :yep

Sal Sanchez vs Juan Manuel Marquez would be a very intriguing fight as well.

Well the only guy that I would pick to beat Salvador Sanchez, would be Henry Armstrong, thats how high my opinion of Sanchez is,

so no I don't they would of, but the fights would of been sensational to watch.

The mexican greats of this era are all too easy to hit and methodical to beat sanchez. Not that they don't have plenty of strengths to make good fights, but none of them match up too well with him imo.

Cuties, movers and jabbers are better suited to taking on sanchez. The late 60s and early 70s groups like Famechon, Winstone, Legra and Marcel would match up better with sal, whereas Barrera, Morales, Marquez and Pac might do better against Saldivar.

    Possibly more than probably.

No doubt they would put up a great fight at their best but Sanchez by decision will be the likely outcome I would guess... assuming he is on his own best form like he was vs Lopez, if he came in like he did vs Ford, he would get his ass handed to him vs the FW Morales that beat Ayala or the FW Barrera that beat Hamed.

I think Erik Morales actually improved as he moved up from 122lbs, Bill.

    What do you think?
