Floyd fought in May. Said he's taking....

I get the year off thing. But if Floyd fights in Dubai in December, what does that mean?

not blaming floyd or pac for anything but here is my two cents.

I can definately understand floyd taking a break and this is why. If Floyd wasnt a boxer who trains as hard as he does, I would say damn he doesnt need a break, and what people see is that his fights turn out easy so they say "what does he need a break for. his last fight was not a war it was one-sided" No body seems to mention that while he may not crush his body in a fight, he crushes it during training. The fight should always be easier than training.

Work with my example right here. I am in the military and we constantly train. Then when we know we have an op or deployment coming up we increase the training, Pushing our bodies to the limit. Once the smoke clears and its all said and done. We take a break, and at that moment i know the last thing that i give a **** about is anything dealing with my job. Even though that is my job. It takes a toll on you. Once the show is over, you are ready to relax. And thats without 40m. Believe it or not, what do i do when i return? I go the **** on vacation.

Now trust me, I know military and boxing is different but im using that example based off the fact that both take a toll on your body and the preparation is similar in certain aspects. During workups you give so much of your time to focus on nothing but that and im sure during training camp so much time is given to that. Once its done, I want time to myself friends and family just like what floyd is saying. And he deserves that, because he is not an up and comer. He has made it to the top.

The problem is that people want him to fight manny so bad they just stop seeing things rationally. Hell im pissed that he is only fighting once a year but at the same time

1. He has been fighting once/twice a year so i am used to it now. And the truth of the matter is he calls the shots for himself and what he does. He is a mega superstar. Like him or not.

2. I can honestly relate to what he means when he says he doesnt have the urge.
There are not to many jobs where you have a workup then a climax and it starts over.
I am in one of them so i know what it feels like. (Trust me, I hated hearing that come out of his mouth)

I personally don't get the whole *****/******* mentality of "if you don't love my guy you're wrong." What is getting out of control is threads designed not to generate reasonable conversation and discussion, but merely to publicly blow one guy while bashing dissenting opinions. I'm just calling the thread what it is. I did the same to a Bute thread last week.

 

you're lying to me now. you are a fanboy. how you never fail to back floyd up in all this says so. a year vacation after a comeback from retirement seems perfectly normal to you. i think you're giving floyd too much benefit. if other boxers do this, i'm not sure they'll get this undying support, yesman. if he wants to take the time off, that is perfectly fine if there were no significant fights left to be made. floyd is coming from a stupid retirement, already had a tune-up, gets one legit fight and wants to move away some time at his prime. this is not the first time he's done this. his retirement has also been "timely". you sir, not even questioning at the slightest floyd's decisions as of late, spells very much that you are a fanboy. that fact that you say 60-40 and full osdt are the only acceptable conditions only compound to what i said.

 

Of course it's all right that he fights once a year. He's 33 years old, been doing it his entire life. What the **** is the problem?

 

He just came back from two years off a year ago.... when his division was red hot....

Now he has a top challenger who's red hot...and once again...time to hide!!! :admin

 

what now, is he a fragile baby that needs to be protected?
