I agree with this. It is quite puzzling, but Langford didnt seem to have that good a KO record as a middleweight. Quite startling when you compare it to the heavyweight KO record.

Where is the source for this?
In two books, Johnson said Langford was an easy fight , and that he was not troubled in any way.
Fleischer's father in law said it was a one sided thrashing,Langford being dropped twice and having his nose broken.

Johnson, on many occasions , stated that Choynsky was the hardest hitter he met.

I had long since stopped following boxing by the time he came along, but have always understood his power to have been highly regarded.

Because the ko of Nino in '70 was essentially from a bomb of a right hand..and not from an accumulation of punishment. Modern revisionism now has it that Monzon is on par with Billy Soose or Paul Pender as a puncher..which is erroneous of course. Monzon wasn't as lethal as the Jackson's, Lausse's, Fernandez's, Benn's, etc., that have been named aplenty, but he was a big puncher, until arthritis and a bullet in the shoulder caused him to modify his style somewhat and become more methodical and judicious in the rationing of his power punches...and is worthy of being brought up in the context of this thread.
