floyd is a boxer. If he had his own radio show, it would have been canceled. If he had his own tv show it would be canceled. However considering he's a boxer, and boxing isnt even a mainstream sport anymore, you wont see much backlash becuase what can people really do?

I found his comments horrible, but he's ignorant not a racist.

I already explained why I have this avatar and what this avatar represents. After you read the explanation, tell me if it's racist. OK?

He has a boxing license. 6 months revocation of his boxing license won't hurt him that much but should teach him a lesson. That's what I'm pointing out in my post earlier.

The Filipino-American organization is not out of control. What they're doing is the normal reaction of an offended party of a racist slur.

It's normal for people to condemn a racist rant. There's nothing out of ordinary.

What's out of control is Floyd's crazy racist slur towards PAC and Asian people in general. Is Floyd already out of his mind?

OK Mr. "duck lips" on a chickens body. That was a good excuse by the way. Youre protesting Floyd because you're a fan of boxing and you want the best to fight the best and you support a man with loaded gloves but not a racist . Dude your lame. Quit crying . You fail. This is boxing . It's not basketball or something . Go to Pacland where you can be open about your bias towards Floyd . Here you look like a fool. No one here is supporting racism. But nobody needs to be a hypocrite about it either. And I only posted another response in this pathetic thread again because I saw you posted like the last 4 posts trying to get attention so I felt bad for you. Here you can continue to talk **** about me and Floyd or whatever.I'll even help . Chicken, duck, racist, fraud, fought 41 tomato cans, coward,no urge, vacation, KFC.:thumbsup

I was more offended by the fact Floyd was talking **** about Pac after chickening out on the fight than with anything he said. The guy is an idiot, no-one takes what he says seriously. **** polictical correctness. People are too sensitive these days.

Whether it warrants a huge outcry or not really depends on who is involved and what circumstances exist at the time the statements were made. In Zoeller's case, IF the individual made the statement in the context of a joke and Woods was not offended by it, then we shouldn't turn a spark into a forest fire. My feeling is that certain groups particularly comedians, voice jockeys, musicians (especially rappers), and athletes do have a leeway when it comes to harsh heckling. In various settings where there's fierce competition it's become a tradition and if one doesn't see it then we must highly suspect that individual is ignorant to American culture.

How do you explain an anomaly such as a permissible brawl in the sport of hockey? Certainly we wouldn't teach children to solve their problem(s) through violence or encourage them to make jokes that involve cultural practices. Do you see people boycotting unnecessary violence in hockey in recent times? Absolutely not, because it's become an acceptable mark in our culture. We know it's wrong but it's become so acceptable that we shrug our shoulders and sometimes even cheer at the sight of two hockey players involved in a fist fight. The same logic applies to heckling.

Don't allow confusion. If we are to prohibit comments that can be easily thought of as racist then we should automatically forbid any other forms of remark that include or suggest unethical acts such as ****, murder, hatred, homophobia, etc. Racism isn't a more serious crime than the aforementioned categories. If all these things are against the rules we then must ban all forms of art that include immorality. Let's rehash old wounds caused by Muhammad Ali. Shall we lambaste Mike Tyson for the painful things he's said in the past? Make gangster rap disappear from society! Let's start putting heavy censorship on cutting edge comedians! While we're at it we might as well turn pro football into flag football! I'm sure you get the picture.

Perhaps it's up to Manny Pacquiao or Tiger Woods to make the call. If they find the remarks made toward them to be comical, why shouldn't we chuckle along with them? Does everything that is controversial have to be taken as an extreme offense?? If they are offended they deserve an apology, which was something Mayweather had issued recently. I don't think it's fair to assume it was a "half-hearted apology." What more do you want or expect from him? I think it takes a significant amount of courage to face the camera to admit one is wrong. Adam Carolla never had the testicular fortitude to apologize in front of the camera like Mayweather did. David Stern NEVER publicly apologized for the Gasol brothers' immature and RACIST act of poking fun at China's basketball team!

Let's not suggest a modern day lynching for something that is a petty mistake. Before and after Mayweather's "racist tirade", he has displayed an act of respect and in some cases a camaraderie toward different ethnic groups including Asians therefore he deserves the benefit of the doubt.
