Does anybody have a vid of what happened in the 4th round, or have you seen the bout. Back then it was very hard to see such bouts where I come from, I was happy to be able to see all the Tyson bouts. I looked for it on u-tube but can't find any vid on it.

It looks like it should have been a clear DQ win for Buster, getting punched when down but I can't be sure until I see it with my own eyes.

It used to be on youtube. From what I remember, Mathis took a knee and Bowe clocked him. Mathis had no chance anyway, he was too small and couldnt crack an egg. Lou Savarese stopped him and he was slower than a land tortoise. Bowe should have been Dq'd for the foul though.

If I recall...most felt it should have been a DQ...basically arthur mercante and larry hashard, had a big conversation..and decided to make it a no contest. Clearly it was due to who bowe was and who mathis wasnt....

Boxing does stuff like that all the time, half the refs and judges dont seem to know the most basic rules.

Sure they know the rules. Just as they know who the house fighter is. You can go and look at a ring controversy and it's quite simple---the house fighter is the guy getting the breaks. Follow the money.

Holyfield should have been DQ's against Rahman. Tyson on numerous occasions throughout his career for hitting guys while they were down or elbowing them. Lennox Lewis for holding and hitting and scoring KO's. They all fouled and all seemed to get away with it. Bowe was no exception.
