Since you asked for anyone besides hoya....

In his first 24 fights Fernando Vargas fought

    Felix Trinidad
    Ike Quartey
    Winky Wright
    Oscar De La Hoya
Raul Marquez - back when he was still decent
Yori Boy Campas - back when he was still decent
Ross Thompson - outweighed vargas by over 10lbs on fightnight

    * And in those 24 became the youngest JR middleweight champ in boxing history, * the winky, ike, ross and trinidad fights were all within a span of one year I believe (could be wrong on that one).

Granted, he lost 2 of those fights..... but on resume alone, for a first 24 fights it is almost without peers in the modern era.

Khan hasn't fought anyone near a world-class level yet. Malinaggi is overrated, Barrera shot, Prescott beaten by Mitchell. But he'll still be up there on the pound for pound list this time next year. He'll beat whoever is put in front of him...unless they slap him on the jaw.

Yeah and its probably he had such a brief career. Too much too soon.

Khan is being brought along fine. Floyd was brought along great and beat the best super featherweight in the world at 21 years old

Khan's biggest win right now is Paulie, and he hasn't exactl.y been tearing it up either. HIs resume is nothing special right now. LEts not go overboard...

Comparing first 24's? .. I don't call Floyd doing the chicken dance across the ring in his 19th fight, being layed out KO'd by a guy who is a long long way from ever being world class.

Floyd's resume in his first 24 alone is way better. Khan LOST in horrible fashion. First round KO! Floyd dominated all opponents.

Exactly. It should also be noted Floyd didn't feast on hand-picked light-hitters like Khan has done.

Oh, and also, Floyd didn't get brutally taken out in 54 seconds on PPV against a road-sweeper!

Well actually it's pretty similar to Khan's. Manfredy was overrated - but Genaro Hernandez (even a past-prime Hernandez) was FAR better than anyone Khan has beaten.

What is the point of this thread? Khan beat a couple of guys w/ name recognition. He'll never be better than Floyd. Also, Khan was knocked couldn't stand more than a minute w/ the 1st real puncher he faced.

Exactly why this thread should end.
