:thumbsupcan`t argue with that. i love watching them both...benn just has that sentimentality for me as he`s probably my favourite pure balls out warrior to watch
I pretty much agree with everything you say, but If Nigel is as pumped as he was the night he beat McCellan then I would strongly favour Benn on points, he showed great heart, stamina and pressure that night. But overall I think Calzaghe should be favourite on points but Benn gives him hell and drops him at least once, but then again I don't know, would of be great to watch, shame we will never see it :fire
:!:i`m supporting him in all his fights but half heartedly....he`s a sideshow act now. he should have bowed out with tarver 3 and he`s just going to get himself hurt now. it`s like holyfield: i love him and i want him to win but that just means he`ll keep fighting
I'm actually hoping he lose's, because hopefully when it 3 loss in row he'll realise its time leave it be, otherwise if he builds a winning streak maybe a Pascal or a Cloud will use him as a name to add to their resume and he could get hurt (I defiantly don't want to see that), but I got to tell you as much I love Jones, Holyfield's upsetting me more, he should of retired after Lewis II with his reputation intact now people are starting to forget his great victories in the 90's because of his failures in 00's :-(
oh for sure, good point. i mean, in the 50s and 60s you could see all sorts of greats with losing records and going into their later years with more losses than wins. in the end, you wonder what those fights did to them physically and how long it took for their reputations to recover...
yeah especially today most people use these loss's ( after 37 years old ) as proof for why they would lose in Hd 2 Hd match ups, I mean I don't mind a (Bowe example) but when its a (Ruiz or a Toney example) it really pisse's me off you know thats what should be expected when a man fights past 38 - 40 years old. :fire
Calzaghe has been down I think four times. In which of those fights did he get up and "fight off the back foot" for the rest of the round, much less the rest of the fight ?
oh yeah, i mean you`d never say that Robinson would lose to Tommy Hearns cause Hearn`s is better than Joey Archer or that Ali would get destroyed by Tony Tucker cause he lost to Berbick. It`s different rules I guess with modern day fighters:!:
Thats because he was in with Two counter punchers in Hopkins and Jones so they were'nt pressuring him they were looking for the counter, and with Salem it was a flash knockdown and he was'nt really hurt. So I think Jorodz is right when he says Calzaghe would fight of the backfoot if hurt, otherwise he'd get his head handed to him, if he pressed Benn while hurt.
it`s a valid point he raises but if he tries slugging like he did when he was hurt against brewer, he`s get knocked the **** out
