No. His resume is really really lacking outside of Darchinyan and Raul Martinez(who was only a prospect). If his resume was at least half decent I'd say yea but the guys he's fighting arent or are barely top 10 in there division.
Sometimes when I go to say "Nonito Donaire" I accidentally say "Charley Burley". They're historically just so close as far as huge skills and being ducked, I find I can't separate the two. I mean, when Burley beat Darch-oops. See, there, I did it again! Burley, Donaire, major league ducking of epic and unfair proportions...I wonder if ole poor Charley will ever get a serious fight...:-(...Oops! I meant Nonito, not Charley! LOL! I did it again!
uhhh can you say spot on.. I couldn't have said it bettter.. I wish Montiel would fight Nonito.. Arce.. somebody.. Vic don't want noe cause I know he gets the shakes everytime he sees that knock out that he got dealt by Donaire..
Simply, yes. Just ask the 45+ boxing writers from around the world that comprise The Ring Magazine's voting panel that has Nonito Donaire at # 4.
When somebody has Dawson as a top 10, there is no reason why he is not! PFP is actually based more on perception than anything else. For Example, based on lastb 5 opposition, there is no way that floyd shoul even be a top 5, yet some have him at 2. at the moment, there is a dearth lack of quality fighters to be in the top 10 that Donaire is there by default. Not his fault as Montiel does not want any of Donaire.
Needs to fight more, but he got the skills. If he whups the BW division(and i expect him to) he would be rated highly imo.
No he's not. After KOing Darchinian he faced tomato cans. He looks and acts more like a boy idol to me.
Simply NO. Nothing personal against Nonito, but he's still getting credit out of one decent win that took place over 3 years ago. Can't think of any other fighter getting more mileage out of one win over such a long period.
im with chicken Though im a strong convert to Donaire, he doesnt have a strong established resume with big names, with the exception of Darchinyan, and that was a couple years ago. His last fight was alright. He REALLY showed off his skillset. Though skillwise i feel he is in the top10, i dont feel his resume is yet, as compared to others who put in their due time...
Donaire is a true talent. He beat a guy like Vic in a CONVINCING fashion. I don't see why he wouldn't be a p4p talent.
