Sugar Niko Valuev was massively popular in Germany. Enough said.

I don't think people are interested in hearing Haye chirp about the Klitschkos any more. Been there, done that. It's boring because he never backs it up.

Not ESPN, espn3.com. You can just as easily watch a free stream. Really it's not much different to their other non-entity fights.

How many 50,000 seaters did Valuev fill?

Valuev's popularity is not on the level of the Klitschkos or Arthur Abraham in Germany.
The 1.5 million Vitali offered Valuev last time was still more than Valuev had ever made.

That amount is chicken feed to the Klitschkos.

As opposed to Haye's non-entity fights, you mean?

I meant unpopular in America. Not Germany.

Davo, the fight would have been on regular ESPN if they hadn't had a full day of college football already scheduled for the 11th. How do we know this? Because they are replaying it the next day on regular ESPN. We can only hope that this means Wlad has signed a contract with the network.

the klits are a bigger name than haye. But haye is extremely popular in the uk. He generates far more money in the uk than klit does in germany. And when wlad vs haye was announced it sold out much faster than any other klit fight (this was when everyone wanted to see haye shut up. Before he was wba champ). Hbo dropped the klits. Only interested in a haye/klit fight. So while haye may not be as popular as wlad he is still known in the boxing world. And is clearly the biggest draw at heavyweight for the klitschkos

Are the PPV figures in yet for the Sosnowski and Kingpin fights?

Actually, he's not. When he fought Haye they danced in front of 7,000 fans. Nico has never and could never sell out a 50,000 seat areana in Germany.

This isn't true. The Klitschko fight in bigger arenas, they endorse many different products, and they make more money for German Tv. Yes, the big Haye lie about them having a bad TV deal is exactly that.

Let's take Hayes last fight as a baseline. Haye sold 500 K on skybox and he pocketed 2.5 million pounds.

But the Klitschko with their terrible RTL deal made more in their last fight. They each made 3 million Euros.

The fact is the only way Haye generates more money for Skybox is if he fight the Klitsckos or if he fights a local fight, hence Harrison.

All this baloney about filling arenas in Germany is a pile of shite.

    Sven Ottke?

The German public is happy to be spoon-fed a load of boxing tripe and many are delirious enough to spend 30 euros to attend the fight in person (knowing they'll get a free Scorpions set)......but how many millions of Germans pressed a button on their remote control to spend real hard cash on watching the latest of the Klitschkos fights?

    Anyone?

I wouldn't bring up HBO as a way to justify Haye's popularity. As you know, he still can't talk his way onto the network. Even after he had a belt and was facing a known American contender, John Ruiz, HBO wanted nothing to do with him. They have opted instead for Amir Khan. Yes, the Klitschko blew their HBO deal, but the new contracts with ESPN are promising.
