Would Froch-Calzaghe have been as close as Reid-Calzaghe was?

Keep your eyes closed then. Just like you do when you're dreaming of a tall swarthy Welshman removing his cup after a hard sparring session... :dead

This would have been a whipping on the level of Pac vs Cotto but a little worse. Carl would have been whipped for 12 rounds and made to look like a bar fighter. It would have really been comical. Froch was far to slow to handle the onslaught. I would be surprised if froch won 2 rounds. Don't see anything Froch can do inside or outside that could change the fight from looking like child's play to Calzaghe. Kessler in his prime sharpness got schooled in the art of (unconventional) war by Calzaghe. Calzaghe would flat out humiliate Froch regardless of what way froch wanted to fight and at what range. He would have been whipped inside, outside, and in between.

On the inside, Calzaghe would hit him with that usual rapid semi slapping flurry that is hard to deal with. Whenever froch would try to swing back, calzaghe would duck and come up with a not so slappy shot and repeat the process of of his offensive-defensive infighting style. Regardless of who he is fighting, That style is hard to deal with and it seemed that fighters didn't even realize what it was he does prefight. When they got in the fight it was to late as they switch to do something else and find he is good at that too.

On the outside Calzaghe will flat out box off the jab in a very offensive manner throwing every angle of punch even off the back foot at times. he would find a time to drop his hands and toy with froch with fast looping pop shots, Like he did with all his opponents.

I don't think there is any strategy froch could have to beat someone like calzaghe simply because he lacks the skills and mainly speed to do it. He will get overwhelmed. Even if froch tries to start a flurry, calzaghe is gonna duck and block the first shots he can see and come with a counters starting his flurry while seeing everything froch is throwing at him because that really is what he focused on. Yea he was accurate but Calzaghe's main focus when infighting was slipping and countering the counterpunch. He waited for a punch while throwing and that was his gameplan. Froch would be too slow to do anything and would end the night with a bloodied up face from the amount of shots from calzaghe.

And on top His stanima was second to none in this era of boxing, and that includes fresh hatton and Pacmans at any stage.

If you're not homosexual, you must be a woman. No-one would write so tenderly and so lovingly about a man unless they were either a gay man or a horny woman.

Its up to you if you have these feelings towards Hopkins, you have tenderly named yourself after him Popkins  (a little pet name) :dead, how sickening.
I see that when you cant debate boxing, you start talking of homosexuals. Very odd, and then start trying to say others have tender feelings :patsch, after you affectionately name yourself after a fighter, who you cant accept losing

    :pwned yourself :patsch

Popkins has shown a complete lack of knowledge, cant win a debate & pwns himself silly :nut.

Its a perfect example of what happens when a minion starts a thread about an elite boxer. They fail :nono

I though Reid won that fight by a point at the time. it seemed that Calzaghe got a lot of credit fr throwing flurries which were mainly taken on Reid's gloves, whilst a lot of Reid's good body work went unnoticed. Also, Reid landed the harder, cleaner shots. Will accept I was in the minority though. I do think Calzaghe would have beaten Froch fairly comfortable though, speed, smarts, southpaw stances, I just think Froch is made to order for him stylewise the same way guys like Lacy and Sheika were (though Froch would do far better than either of those).
