This fight does nothing for Pavlik's career but put money in the bank. Furthermore, it took the one consideration I had for buying the card (Pavlik) and turned it into a negative. I will not buy this POS PPV.
This might be the worst bs tune up fight that Pavlik can ever pick. Edouard? lol. If Pavlik don't ko him before the 4th round hit then Pavlik is a disgrace done fighter.
I know who Daniel Edouard is... I haven't seen him fight recently, but I've seen enough of him before in the past to know what he's capable of... and he's not capable of even lasting to the middle rounds with Pavlik. Expect him to be out of there by the early rounds. Nothing but a guy brought in there for Kelly to dismantle and destroy.
Team Pavlik are clueless if they make this fight. Just move to 168, do some real training so that Pavlik won't look like **** again, and fight a decent opponent. What a pointless fight this would be if it's true.
No surprise that he's fighting someone that I've never heard of. Top Rank is really wasting this opportunity to restore and expand Pavlik's name and image amongst casual fans considering this fight probably will represent the most exposure that Pavlik has ever gotten and will ever get to casual fans. Edouard had a crazy, crazy fight with Willie Gibbs on ESPN2 back when they were both undefeated. The fight only lasted 4 or 5 rounds, but I think that pretty much ended both of their careers. They weren't particularly great to begin with, but neither was the same after this bout. That's a garbage opponent at a garbage catchweight. Pavlik is almost 6'3" and he can't fight at the full 168lbs? Librado Andrade should call this clown out and put a beatdown on him.
I know they didn't have much money for Kelly's opponent, but this bout actually damages his reputation more than it helps it. There's no way for him to benefit from this.
