I think Calzaghe is better at forcing a high pace in a fight than you do. Bizarre!

    1. we are talking about calzaghe's chin, not about jones being prime or not.

calzaghe has been hit by big punchers and taken them.. that's why i think he has a better chin.

so what, tapia has been down only once.. does that mean he has a better chin than ali? tyson? holyfield? duran?.. no it doesn't, it just means they were in the ring with BIGGER punchers!!

    2. watched his fights with soto, medina and martinez about 3 weeks ago.

    3. watch his fights with eubank, sheika, brewer, bika, reid, kessler and hopkins for his heart and will.. tapia against a fighter like hopkins would be one sided, just like it was against pavlik, trinidad and tarver.. calzaghe showed great will against hopkins.he didn't let hopkins frustrate him, nor set the tempo of the fight.. somthing most of hopkins opponents were unable to do.

    4. to say tapia could adapt as well as calzaghe is, as you would say, "****ing clown shoe's"

5.calzaghe beat lacy for most of the fight on the back foot.lacy was the one coming forward with joe picking him off with counter punches.

have you even watched that fight?

when you fight off the back foot, it doesn't have to mean your opponent puts you there.if your a natural counter puncher, this is were you'll do your best work.joe was also very good on the front foot, this showed how versatile he was.

    Calzaghe all the way baby.
    46-0
    There is NO BLUEPRINT!
    Tapia 57-5-2
In other words a chump compared to Sir Joe!
Oh and btw, Hopkins racist ******....

In other news, Zsolt Erdei (31-0) is obviously a far greater fighter than Emile Griffith (85-24-2).

i did say 20 to 30 years, but hay, lets give this a go.

hearns: couldn't box off the back foot for ****.wasn't a great boxer either.

benitez: past his past by mid 80's

arguello: was finished as a fighter after the second pryor fight in 83.

duran: was a pressure fighter, didn't have the all round ability calzaghe had.

sanchez: was dead in 82.using the whole 30 years, only gives sanchez 1 year of action.. you need to get your ****ing dates sorted.

leonard: different style to calzaghe, but i'll give you that one.

gomez: love wilfredo, one of my fave fighters, but i'll have disagree with you there.was way out of his prime by the mid 80's.

20 years ago, they were either retired or finished as fighters.before you make a comment, make sure you got your facts right.. or you'll end up looking like a DUMBASS!!!.. won't you?

concerning the sanchez part of my post, i was thinking the year was 2011 and not 2010.

i'm banging my head on the desk due to my stupidity.

Is this some sort of sick joke?

I thought he showed fantastic all around skills when he felt the need, certainly of a much higher level technically than Joe.

2 years, actually. Regardless of how long he was performing, he was still a higher level of fighter than Joe ever was during that period.

If my memory serves me correct Salazar was winning that fight(dont go by boxing records), and Romero looked shitty. Did you see the fight Popkins?

Its a good question. I think Tapia deserved the decision in at least one of the Ayala fights, i thought the first was a draw. If hed got the decision in one or both of those fights it would add a great deal to his career. Im guessing Calzaghe will go down in history as the better fighter but Id definitely prefer to watch Tapia fight anyday. Also Calzaghe couldnt snort sherbet compared to Tapia

So there is substance to my point. I was going to discount that fight altogether, but it's hard for me to believe that a strong Super Flyweight like Romero would have trouble with a Willy Salazar. I'd really like to see the fight.

    Awesome avatar, Popkins. Great poster.

:thinkI believe i scored it 116-112 Tapia. Romero was competetive but lost convincingly.
