Floyd Mayweather Jr. makes it hard to "STAY" a Fan.

There really is no defending Floyd's actions at this point. I think (though I wish he would say it) that his lack of urge is due to Roger's future being uncertain. By saying he won't fight the rest of the year, that gives him time to see what's going to happen with Roger before making plans to fight the fight that everyone wants to see.

I just hate when people want to make him out to be worse than he is, and/or to take away his accomplishments. Floyd is, without a doubt the greatest fighter of this generation. Show him the necessary respect for what he has done in the ring.

I'm a fan of Floyd inside and outside of the ring. I think his accomplishments outside of the ring are the best of any athlete in the history of sports. You have a small guy that has no KO power at all, and has been a part of two of the largest ppv buys fights in the history of the sport. He plays the villain because he has to. The reality is unless you are a guy with insane KO power, or latino, you are not going to do numbers. Those are just how things are. I respect how Floyd has made so much money with the hand he has been dealt. I don't agree with the racist remarks, but he did what he had to do to remain relevant. He is only relevant as the villain. No one would care about him if he were humble but mainstream culture loves to hate anyone rich arrogant and black, so he is making that hate work for him.

Don't make him a role model for your kids obviously. me personally I could care less about what he does outside the squared circle.

 

This is my opinion, WHO cares about their personal life (What are we BITCHES?)
All I care about is them performing in the ring PERIOD.

I want to see Floyd in the ring fighting.
(What he does outside of it I could give 2 ****'s & that goes for every fighter)

 

prob the best post ive seen on ESB. And not because its against Mayweather or that he's "seen the light". Just candid, revealing, truthful, and cerebral.

Im still somewhat a Mayweather fan, but never would be classified as a "hardcore" fan. Like some of the floyd fans here posted, i try to "value" more in what he does in the ring than what he does outside the ring. And i try real hard to give him the benefit of the doubt in some areas, especially when there's just loose speculation to fill the void.

BUT....

At SOME point, you just have to question a man's integrity and character, and how it translates and leaks from the outside to inside the ring. And when that starts to matter to you as a fan, then the luster of admiration for him as a fighter starts to fade and wane away, because he's not just a fighter.... even greater, he's a man.

And if you CANNOT respect a fighter anymore as a MAN, you CANNOT respect him as a fighter anymore either....

Its a real suck feeling when you knowingly lose admiration for a great fighter....

 

It is not only Mayweather's antics that turn off fans but to be grouped with a bunch of idiotic fans or *****s is too much. Guilty by association is really a hard thing to swallow.

The *****s are the dumbest bunch of fans ever in sporting history, bar none.
