So Pavlik is fighting Edouard

I heard his alcoholism has been bad for a while , it was in 2008 I think when he "slipped his hands" through a window... It's a shame

 

Yep... A focused and well trained Pav still brings hell to the super middle or middle divisions... I hope he can get some positive people around him who can really tell him what time it is...

This is a very disappointing opponent for Pavlik and if he doesn't get him out of there before the midpoint of the fight then that would also look bad on Pavlik. I really thought Manfredo would get this fight and I was fine with that but Edouard is a big letdown.

I'd disagree with this fight hurting Pavlik's career unless he loses of course. What will matter is what Pavlik does next time he faces a top fighter. If he faces and beats someone like Williams, Martinez, or a top 168 guy then he is back as a top fighter himself. If he faces one of those guys and loses then he'll be viewed as done as a top guy. Unless he loses or goes on a 2 year run of beating Edouard type of guys then this fight has almost no impact on his career one way or the other. Its what he does when he steps up again that will matter. But this is still a sorry fight that Pavlik should win easily.

so many fights they could make. this would be a perfect opportunity to have kp/andrade fight. cowboys stadium...arum already trying to milk the mex/mex-american fan base w/ a mexican fighter in the main event...to have another recognizable mexican warrior on there would make so much more sense and be great exposure for kelly as well as a great test for him at 168. this is ****ing stupid. when cam dunkin was screaming mad about TR not doing **** for kelly...i can't imagine this is what he had in mind.

IF this happens....this is a horribly wasted opportunity. horribly wasted.

Edouard is shot and this is a completely pointless fight. Edouard was DECENT at best when in his "prime" but now he's just terrible. His chin is complete **** too and he's really a 154 pounder.

If this fight goes more then 2 rounds I'll be shocked.

 

That still isn't signed, and I HIGHLY doubt Braehmer will even get a visa to get into Canada if the fight is signed, given his criminal record.

 

This is a **** fight -- I agree -- but I don't see why people keep saying Edouard is a 154 guy. He has only fought at that weight 3 times. He has fought above 160 nine times.
