Wlad and Vitali are too polite and respectful for a lot of boxing fans

My opinion is so many people hate them because they are actually good human beings. A lot of fight fans like thugs, not decent , well mannered guys.

What do you think?

i would have to agree. they are labelled as "dull". i dont know whats dull about being a doctor, being a millionaire and being an internationally famous and succesful athlete. most people on here would easily trade their lives for one of the klitschkos. i think theyre great role models and i really dont like trash talking athletes, especially fighters. i liked the modest, young, pre don king mike tyson. not the thuggish gangster that didnt even live up to his words afterwards in the ring. i also dont understand, why people think alis trashtalk was so funny or special. he was a great boxer and achieved alot, but some of his antics were just as insulting as what the trashtalkers nowadays say and do (calling joe frazier a gorilla, for example).

i get a laugh out of loud mouthed morons getting their asses kicked afterwards..like edison miranda against abraham in their second fight, and then always moving up a weight class instead of taking the loss like a man.

 

Maybe. I actually think VITLAY has a real mean streak about him.

Sorry, I'm not buying that train of thought. As a fight fan I want to be entertained and Vlad fights don't entertain me, simple as that. I like the guy personally but this aint a Mr. Congeniality contest, its boxing. Boring 12 round decisions against inferior opponents don't interest me. As long as the guy isn't Charles Manson I'll take the entertaining thug over the well mannered bore any day of the week. After all its boxing not Mister America

Perhaps fans haven't taken to them as they are painful on the eyes...

I think people are bored by the Klits cos they're primarily boring in the ring.

 

So how come Manny Pacquiao is so popular?

Being (at least perceived as) a nice, polite guy didn't hurt Leonard and de le Hoya at the box office did it?

Wlad isn't popular because his fights aren't entertaining, simple as that. People want to see a guy with his physical advantages to destroy guys instead of boxing cautiously.

 

I think people dislike the Klitschko's for a few reasons:

1. Some people find Wlad's style to be boring.

2. The size advantage.

3. Their ethnicity.

That's true. But then again so was Lennox Lewis. Did he ever sell a pay per view bout on his own? That's a question not a statement. Because I only remember him selling bouts when they were attached to a big name like Tyson or Holyfield.

 

I don't think that it has anything to do with their ethnicity either. But the fact that they don't speak English and that they hold most of their bout in Germany is a turn off to most American fans. The same goes for David Haye, except the English part, of course. For all of the talk about how wildly popular he is he has yet to secure a bout on a major television network in the US. Not even ESPN wants anything to do with him.

 

After seeing comments here and elsewhere, it's a foregone conclusion to me that ethnicity DOES have something to do with it. I wish I could say otherwise, but there are some ignorant people out there.

 

I think it's all about the ethnicity. The majority of Americans think that the best athletes should always be black. The K-Bros blow farts at that theory and it upsets America. Pretty simple. If Wladimir or Vitali were black Ukrainians, they would be adored by the media, the boxing fans and all the American people.
