    Manny Pacquiao KO8 Chatchai Sasakul

    Sasakul's record: 33-1

Major world titles: Reigning WBC flyweight champion

Sasakul's key win: Avenged only defeat by outpointing the great Yuri Arbachakov

Story of the fight: Sasakul ahead on all cards before he is caught by his wayward, powerful young opponent

    19th December 1998, Miami

Floyd Mayweather Jr TKO2 Angel Manfredy

    Manfredy's record: 25-2-1

    Major world titles: None

Manfredy's key win: Shock win on cuts vs an Arturo Gatti coming off a big win vs Gabe Ruelas, Manfredy dropped Gatti in the 3rd

Story of the fight: Mayweather dominates, maybe benefits from a premature stoppage, but was well in control and would surely have won anyway

Sasakul was the much better opponent, whereas Mayweather's performance was more impressive in many ways. You still gotta go with the Sasakul win. Without it Pacquiao fan boys wouldn't have a good chunk of the ammo they rehash at every conceivable opportunity.

Mayweather was very green at the time. Manfredy was an experienced solid fighter. It wasn't just a win it was a bit of a shock that Mayweather blew him away so quickly. I think it was in the first or second round. I happened to be sitting ringside at that fight. I remember Kid Rock was rapping and walking manfredy out to the ring before anyone knew who he was. Manfredy was pretty popular at that time. It was on the undercard of Tua Rahman I down in Miami.
It was an impressive win for Mayweather.
I'm sure the Pac win was substantial but those lower divisions consisted of a bunch of converted kickboxers for the most part or non boxers.

 I can't believe I was actually suckered into thinking this notorious '**** was making a fairly decent and interesting post for once, before I reached the last part and was hit smack in the face with the usual sickening blow of ignorance and stupidity. If you think Chatchai Sasakul was a converted kickboxer, you seriously need to consider switching sports to WWE or some bollocks more up your street. He was a long-reigning champion and a genuinely excellent fighter. Sickened.

Thanks for all the lovely accolades, but yes the lower weight classes are made up of a bunch of them. Why do you think Ricardo Lopez's resume often comes into question??
I didnt say Sasakul was a converted kickboxer Popkins, many of the fighters in the division were, and he wasnt a long reigning champion. :finger
His resume proves my point. He was fighting guys in their pro debuts when he had 40 plus fights, and the comp is hardly stellar. Yuri was probably his best win, and it was Yuris final fight.

I really can't stomach sub 122lbers for the most part, the fact I know 11yos that could kick a World Champions ass bothers me. So basically I know nothing about Sasakul he's prob a better win, but Manfredy by rights should have had the IBF belt coming into the Mayweather fight too

Mayweather's win was also a tad premature for the record

Sasakul was a classy boxer who made Pacquiao look horrible until the far bigger and stronger man caught up to him.

Manfredy was solid, if nothing special, and was blown out by Mayweather in an impressive performance.

Sasakul is the better win, Manfredy is the more impressive performance. But keep in mind that Pacquiao was very young at the time he fought Sasakul.

Sasakul embarassed himself by losing to Pac.Similar to an overconfident Zapata letting himself get tacked by limited big puncher Amado Ursua in the 2nd.

Very overvonfident fighter, he should probably have got the better of Arbachakov in their first fight as well, but took his eye off the ball late and started coasting, when he should have been closing strong to ensure the win.

the Pacquiao win is much better and people should reference to it when they say Pac can't handle a slick boxer.
