They're charging him with Larceny since NV has a stiffer penalty for theft than they do for beating her. "Mayweather does not face domestic violence charges because it would be a misdemeanor, and the incident occurred more than 24 hours before the arrest, though police will submit that case to the district attorney's office, the newspaper reported."
