Very noble effort. But Haye is a belt holder, Adamek is not. Vitali is an old man. And Wlad has now taken on 3 number one contenders in a row. Nice try, though. :rofl

I admire the guy for staying active. The best way to build a fan base is to keep going out there and winning. Once you have a following, you have power. Once you have power, you get a title shot.

I guess it's a way to make some money (maybe espn/small ppv fight) while awaiting a big fight w/ vitaly without really jeopardizing it. hard to argue with that. he could spar guys like maddalone, but why not get paid i guess. maddalone ain't all that bad really so it's not like it's one of Hasim Rahman or Shannon Brigg's recent opponents. Maddalone will probably see it as his last shot, so could be somewhat interesting. Maddalone's a step or three above bobby gunn (difference in weights considered). Wish the top 15 would be fighting each other, but hard to argue with this choice if vit klit is nearly set up

if nobody sees the fights he's not really building a fan base outside of the one he already has. Nobody is ordering these pay per views.

Bad fight but he needs it. The people who think Adamek could win a belt need to realise he's being kept where he is for a reason. A Klitschko fight even next year, would be disastrous.

This fight makes no sense other than a stay busy bout. It doesn't prepare him for Vitali whatsoever...at least he will have come away from the Grant bout with new knowledge, but this...

Adamek will never beat a Klitschko no matter how many tune-ups he has.

I would give Tomasz the edge over Haye and Povetkin however.

how would it be disastrous? He's not a kid and has accomplished a lot in his career. Why not take a shot at the title, he's obviously better than many of the guys getting shots these days. And if he gets destroyed, so be it.

Adameks statement is that he didnt have to take this fight but he does it only in order not to get rusty + $$ and its also the thing his trainer requires from him. Adamek had lately 3 fights with 12 rounds each and all of them were hardcore to him, even Grant who was to be an 'easy' one. I bet the next fight gonna be a big one.

Haye is a world champion, and should therefore only be defending his belt against world class competition. Ademek is merely a contender, and with all the other champions busy he is just staying active.

Adamek is protecting his career fighting regional American HWs rather than entering the tough elite European scene.
He needs to fight in the European scene for a while to build himself into a finished article HW, otherwise he will get brutally exposed when he steps up to the European level

Adamek struggles a lot against those 'regional HWs' which proves he shouldnt enter tough 'elite European scene', right?

Adamek looks like he's riding his Arreola victory and is just fighting bums in hopes of getting a title shot.
