I think floyd may be faster north/south especially with his reach advantage. Manny has much better lateral movement. Marquez said recently the key to fighting Manny was keeping him at a distance and throwing combinations. The problem for Floyd is that he doesn't really throw combinations anymore and I don't think his lateral movement is fast enough to keep Manny at a distance.
As noted above, Floyd's straight right is faster than anything Pacquiao throws, but Pacquiao throws faster combinations. Also, I'd say Floyd has the faster reflexes. I prefer Floyd's footwork since he tends to always manage to be in position to land his counters, but as to whose footwork is "faster", it's really tough to say.
:thinki believe it may be something reltaed to hypervigilance which is not uncommon in people with traumatic pasts
Pacquiao's straight left at those weights were pure lightning. As he's moved up I believe he's put on some heavier muscle in his upper body that doesn't allow for such a straight pure left hand down the pipe. He's still very fast, of course, but it's not the same.
I don't know about that man. Pac throws his lead straight left so goddamn straight it looks like a left jab. Its just not as fast as it used to be but WWs are not as fast as FWs in general so he's still fast in a p4p sense. But back then he was even faster, even if you're talking pound for pound. People don't realise that Pac was a 3 weight world champion, 2 times lineal, before his 25th birthday. And he didn't have the intelligence back then that he has today. It was mostly raw talent.
This content is protected My spider sense is tingling. Actually go back and what the Marquez exchange in real time, its almost faster then the eye can see, I tried to catch it several times in real time and missed it it was so fast
Pac is the faster of the two. Looks like Void was arrested today. He is faster than a woman, he always beats up a woman. Did Roger teach him the strategy on how to beat up woman?
Hmm. I'll have to review some tape. It's just I found before he moved up, say, to 130lbs and beyond, his straight left was like a lightning bolt, just came out of no where and right down the pipe. Since then it seems to loop a tiny bit more... just a fraction. Again, I'll take a look at some tape when I get a chance to see if maybe it's just my perception at the moment.
1) Marquez also hurt him with body shots TWO years ago 2) Floyd always loves to go for the body against southpaws 3) emmanuel has a solid chin and strong legs on him. Going to the body first will pay off.
