Morales and Marquez could be made

why don't they pick some vacant title at 140 (i'm sure that can be arranged) and then battle it out for history.

I think that would be a good sell.

 

this would be the best way to go but i dont think marques wants to move up unless he gets beaten by kats and i think erik wants the lineal lightweight title a vacant jww strap wouldnt really mean anything espeially seen as it would only be an interim title i reckon erik should try get down to 138 in his next tune up to see if he can make it

I'm a huge Marquez fan, but one that would like to see him do it the throwback way, "earn it" against a legit 140 lbs title holder and not do it the Ray Leonard and DLH way where the sanctioning body practically hands him a vacant bogus title the way they're trying to hand Pacquiao one at 154 lbs against Antonio Margarito!:-(

 

Same. If (when) he beats Katsidis, maybe he can fight Morales as an eliminator bout to get used to the weight, get a good payday, put on a good fight, and finish connecting the fab four for history's sake... and then see which of the legitimate 140 champions is the best pick. Marquez winning a legitimate fourth title is the only acceptable way for him to make history.

 

I'd prefer to have Morales fight say Juan Diaz, and if he gets by Diaz, that warrants a JMM fight having some historical meaning.
