with mikkel kessler not in the super 6 anymore i think it would have been logical to ask Bute to replace him the same that green replaced taylor.

why havent the organizers of the super 6 asked bute to join?

heres a few quotes from espn

sounds to me like it would be a perfect reason to invite bute into the tournement given the lack of fighters bute has availible:think

I like how they are doing it, just cutting to the chase and letting these 4 duke it out.

Two of them will be out soon anyways and he can make fights with them.

No top fighter would willingly go in to the 3rd phase of the round robin with zero points.

i agree he cant win the super 6, but he can still get a good opponent to fight and when he wins he still retains his title so i see it as a win win for bute....

True. Bute wouldn't break his contract with HBO to participate in a single fight in a tournament he has virtually 0 mathematical chance of winning. He would have to KO Green, Froch would have to beat Abraham, and Ward would have to beat Dirrell to make the final four Ward (6 points), Froch (4 pts), Abraham (3 pts) and Bute (3 pts), and everybody would cry foul anyway because he only had to win one fight against a replacement to make it to the semi-final. It would never work.

Their current solution is the best one. Drop the dead weight, and put the four best fighter against each other and get the tournament over with by the first half of 2011. Works out just fine. In the meantime, the losers can sign with HBO and start fighting Bute.

Yo demigawd who's the girl in your avatar? All I gotta say is holy ****!

On topic, they're not looking for a replacement for Kessler... that's just one of the many reasons he's not gonna be in the Super Six.

If he loses he has no chance for immidiate redemtion like the other Super six fighters. He has no chance to advance.

If he wins he takes a belt out of the tourney or perhaps even makes the final fight much less interesting.

Loss-loss... so doesn't make sense to have him in now.

He'll fight the winner of super-six! He said he wants to clear that division in the next year.

No fighter would start with zero points so far in the tournament, and no fighter deserves to get another fighters points!

So he could join the Super Six and fight Allan Green.

Umm, is there any reason he can't fight Allan Green now?

And besides Bute wouldn't fit the current picture anyway:

Ward VS Dirrell = Semi final
AA VS Froch = Semi final

    Winner VS Winner = Final

The sad thing is that Kessler will probably fight the winner of the Super 6 before Lucian has the chance to do it....

... so Lucian will have to wait again
