Who else feels '11 Adamek would be tuff as nails for '53 Marciano? I sure as hell do.

He may got killed by Marciano in the ring, but until this happens he would give Marciano a hell of a fight. That was the main point of this thread and I agree with this statement. I have no problem when somebody says that Marciano would brutalize him, as he adds that the fight isnt one-sided. Probably Marciano's stamina would be too much for Adamek. That means some early success in the fight for Adamek, while Marciano would take advantage in the second part of the fight.

Yes, Adamek isnt obviously a high-skilled boxer. As I always mention he is rather a hard-working craftsman with enough natural talent to compete with more talented boxers or bigger punchers than him.

I believe that he hasnt peaked yet and he is still improving (despite the age). However there is somewhere a limit for him. Is a Vitali Klitschko that limit? Probably, but I hope that not. I may be all wrong, but until he faces either Klitschko brother and loses badly you aint sure how far he can go.

Adamek has something special going on.... I just love it when a natuarally smaller man comes around and bursts onto the scene and starts kickin' ass and takes control over the top dogs--minus the champs... Adamek will have problems with the K-brothers, but who doesn't???

-Problem is that I think like Mathews, Adamek lacks the power to keep Rocky in check. Walcott, Moore, and Charles proved they could KO tough well conditioned 210-220 pounders, they packed a mean punch in addition to being so crafty. I also don't think Adamek is cute enough to make Rocky miss as much as they or LaStarza did. Adamek is tough though, he will put up a fight as long as his body can hold out. At best he can catch Rocky on a bad night like Cockell, make him look bad for more rounds than expected before going down from a sustained assault. And Cockell actually was a decent fighter riding a high streak with some good wins so that is no insult.

-I can agree with all of this. Very fair.

Actually he beats all those guys. Hed be outboxed by Charles,Walcott though. Him and Nino Valdes would be intresting. Some of these guys are too nostaligic in saying a big aggresive and hard hitting heavy like Arreola(who would be huge by those days standards) would not be competetive against 50s Heavys(most would be cruisers today). Arreola would easily be a top 5 heavy and a legit threat to win the title.

Adamek would do well against Marciano early and even take a lead going into the mid rounds but Rockys persistance and superior power pays off he kos Adamek in 10.

Either way we slice it, Arreola is a great warm-up fighter for a guy to prepare with if he was looking at Marciano down the road for a mega-fight.... Adamek passed the test there with flying colors....

Okay, everybody. Adamek might prove me wrong if he gets by Maddalone, who is essentially a bigger version of Marciano with a record similar to what Marciano's would be if he were around today in the land of giants. You guys win. Really.

All of Chris's opponents must be lucky people then. Even the ones who were hammered to ****all. They went to the hospital thinking "I'm just lucky this ******* wasn't in shape."

I'll buy that.... But Arreola is a lot like Peter.... Their skills are average, and their training is often under par.... Skillwise, Adamek is better than both.....

Yey thats why i gave the:blood Look cause he hasnt been in shape since the Chazz Witherspoon fight.

Adamek was hurt in that fight and if Arreola had been 15 to 20 lbs lighter he would have been quicker to cut off Adamek and finish him or atleast had more stamina to clinch the late rounds and put more pressure.

"Peter and Arreola" remind me of the 1980s group of good but slobbish heavies who basically never lived up to their FULL potential in the ring....
