You'd think a guy who had more than 10,000 posts with multiple accounts and has an ESB account longer than I've been in the Boxing Game than me would be able to write some credible posts.

    Some people are amazing

What about if I didn't have any such agreement with my boss. And then one day my boss arranged for me to work with another higher-paid employee giving me a good opportunity to benefit from the experience and develop my own career and I said 'nuts to that unless you pay me nearly as much as him that day'?

True, it isn't Khan's fault really. He signed with GBP on that contract. The blame is with GBP for not consulting HBO properly. But in a situation like this it's very difficult for Khan not appear to be the bad guy, sort of similar to like how in the financial crisis banking executives where getting huge wages and bonus's that had been agreed by their employer, and instead they got the target of the hate, when in fact they were just getting what they'd agreed when taking the job.

However, what I do dislike is Khan and Vali publicly declaring that Madiana is asking too much money. I'd rather they just kept quiet.

Golden Boy (or his other co-promoter) aren't the ones who promised him the 45%. Also, that analogy doesn't fit too perfectly with the case in hand

Well that's not the situation we are in.

But for arguments sake, If we were talking about an up and coming boxer with 15-16 fights to his name, then perhaps, but I think you're being disrespectful to Madiana as effective co-champion if you think he needs Amir Khan to do those things. He's made a name for himself in the ring already and earned his position.

Well it's not a promise, it's a rule. Golden boy want to stage an event in which the rule is the split is 55/45, but don't have the money to do so due to Khan's contract

I don't think he has. He's defeated a prospect in Victor Ortiz. That's it. His last fight was a Corley in Argentina, which I don't think was even televised in the US. He's a good name in boxing circles, that's it.

Put it this way, is he worth twice what Malignaggi is in the US?

Maidana keeps accusing Khan of ducking him when that's no the case and is saying **** so I'd only expect Khan to defend his fort and talk back.

The fight with Malignaggi got the highest ratings of 2010 on HBO B.A.D.

That pretty much says it all.

He's had a fight that was a nominee for 2009 FOTY.

and worth doesn't come into it, is Amir Khan worth 1.25million... no. If he was we wouldn't be having the same problems as with the Malignaggi fight, and HBO would be giving offers that took Khans worth into account and staging the event.

That contract GBP constructed was done with a lack of understanding into why Ricky Hatton got the followings he did.

Malignaggi is a name known to the public, far in excess of Maidana and Khan. Should he be worth more than Madiana? Yes. However, the simple fact remains that Maidana is interim champ, so it's gotta be 45%

Khan co-promotes himself with GBP. Khan promotions takes UK PPV revenue directly. It doesn't enter into the equation.

Rico, will all due respect, if GBP don't win the purse bid, they don't have to pay Khan ****. And Khan won't be promoting ****. So this argument he needs more than the 55% to pay venue etc is bollocks.

Khan is a much bigger draw then Maidana in the states. Mainly due to the fact that the pakistani/argentinian fans ratio is not worth comparing. Only a delusional person would think otherwise.
