To be honest, not many Pac fans are all that much excited by the margarito fight. Personally, I don't think the fight adds much to Pac's legacy except for another belt in another weight class which truthfully neither Pac nor Marg deserve at this point.

So I don't really get the argument in that Pac fans givr Marg a pass. Even Pac has asserted that Marg knew about the illegal wraps but that everyone deserves a second chance.

I think both Floyd or Marg aren't worthy of lacing Pac's boots at the moment. The latter for his complicity in the illegal wraps, the former for his antics outside the ring. Floyd may have ATG skills but he's a damn *****.

 

i don't understand the writer's opinion. nobody here gives margarito pass. the fight gets a pass but not margarito.filipinos criticize margarito as bad as you do.

Why should they give a **** about what Margarito was accused of doing 2 years ago? It doesn't directly effect them. Most people don't even know about it. Boxing is more a niche sport these days, and you really have to be a fan to know all the major happenings.

In Mayweather's case it did make headlines in non-boxing circles due to racist nature of his comments and since they were directed at Pacquiao and his race it did directly effect Filipinos. This story is just a beat up to have a go at Pacquiao and his fans. There is no substance to it.
