Wlad was better than I expected tonight but the holding in the 4th was disgraceful.

i've got to give wlad credit for that performance, it was alot better than some of his other fights.

he's fighting off the back foot alot better now.. just wish he'd stop with all the clinching.

    i give it 6/10.

I thought both guys came in shape, ready to go, and had a game plan.

You could see Peter was trying to pressure early, get Wlad outside his comfort zone and go head hunting.

Wlad was able to keep control and by the end of Rnd. 2 Peter was eating right hands. By round 4 Wlad was throwing/landing the hook and the uppercut, which we have not seen from him as often in the past.

When Manny asked Wlad to step back from the clinch and throw combos, he did. When he told him it was time to take him out and it would go 12 if he didn't pressue him, Wlad stepped up and took him out.

All in all, Wlad did everything Manny asked, that the fans wanted and what he said he was going to do. Be more aggressive, KO his opponent with combos and look good doing it.

Props to Peter for having the nads to give it a shot and for landing a few good shots himself. I think he would be a good challenge for someone smaller, like Adamek, Haye or Povetkin.

The ref was constantly getting on to Peter for holding.

    so, what are you saying.

that peter, and not wlad, was doing all the holding?

    or

the ref was ****, it was wlad who was doing all the holding, not peter?

I think this fight really showed just how much better Wladimir is today, than 5-years ago.

You had essentially the same Samuel Peter, perhaps a little better than 5-years ago, because of the experience and being in better shape.

And yet, tonight was much more one sided in favor of Wladimir.

peter's not as good as he was a few years ago, it's all down hill from now on.

wlad's much better than he was 5 years ago, that much is true.

I'm saying that Wladimir was constantly pushing Peter off of him....or the ref was saying "Sam, your hands are free, fight".

Not that I think there's anything wrong with holding, there's not. It's part of boxing strategy. I'm just saying that Peter was doing the vast majority of it.

I don't know what you were watching......the ref was constantly getting on to Peter, and Wladimir was constantly trying to push Peter away, and break the clinch

Want to be part of this historic thread. This is the second fight, along with Chagaev, that has a legendary quality. These are two guys who competeed to be the best of the era, and Wladdy dominated.

peter confidants is not the same than before when he started losing, I'm not impressed and never will be, they avoided the best when they were on top, now there is no good heavyweights anymore and that is when wlad and his brother came in to feast on the scraps:-(

Who gives a **** what the ref was doing. He's not an authority on the truth. He's liable to make a mistake and be wrong... he's human.
