Why should he have called for bids in the first place?, How was he supposed to know GBP would give him a less than 45% payment.

And your mistaken..GBP are prepared to give Maidana 45%, if Khan accepts 55% of the purse. If Khan takes 55% they can afford to give Maidana 45%

he must have known that there offer would not be 45% as they dont think hes worth it and neither do i to be honest , hes done what he should have done , no ducking , no forcing someone , just what he should have done at the start

khan will have to take 55% but he wasant gonna make that offer of his own free will hes a buisness man aswel

khan will have to make his money up somewere else

The thing is GBP didn't have to offer 45%, it hadn't gone to purse bids. They offered a flat fee and Maidana thinks the 45% will be earn him more so he sent it out to purse offers. thats his decision, time will tell if he's done the right thing.

I think theres every chance that GBP will win the purse bid with a low bid give Khan/ Maidana their 55/45 but give Khan a backhander which will leave Maidana wishing he had taken GBP original offer.

It's simple okay... HBO offered almost 2 million for the fight, the majority of which will is purse. Everyone knows this. Maidana was then made an offer which was significantly less than 45% of the available purse. Rules state the split is to be 45/55... Obviously he took disagreement to that. That's as simple as it can be explained.

It's pretty simple, they couldn't afford to give him that backhander.

    Here's why..

A broadcaster has deemed it to be worth 2 million..

In GBP's case its HBO, they would have to subtract from that 2 million the backhander, before they even made a purse bid. This would put them at a massive disadvantage to other promoters who approached broadcasters for offers, and put in purse bids. Do you follow?

Cobbler, in his infinite disfunction seems to think that promoters don't put bids in on fighters they are not contracted with... which is utter nonsense. Fighters jump ship all the time, so there is no loyalty at world level, every fight is about how much profit can be made, whilst paying costs.

I understand and agree but GBP don't have to nessarcerily make a profit on the fight, they might think its more important in the long term to keep Kahn sweet.

    Just "shooting the breeze"....;O)

Cornered In the sense that, had the WBA not called the purse bid. Khan could have signed to fight someone else, leaving Maidana to find himself a new fight.

They definately have to make a profit!!, that's what it all about. it's only a 3 fight deal remember, it might be extended, might not. When it comes to re work terms after the 3 fights, Khan might make a ridiculous demand that GBP won't pay, so ultimately in contracts like this you have to make you're money while you can at world level.

What I actually said was that on most occasions pursebids come from promoters of the two fighters.

    Which is entirely true.

I assume from the fact that you feel the need to misrepresent what I did say and that you're last sentence ('every fight is about how much profit can be made') is basically identical to my argument, that you don't actually have much disagreement?

Haha, from what I've seen from Khan's Twitter, Lazarus is at least 10 times better at English and grammer :)

Look at your posts. I'd be shocked if anyone and I mean anyone could take you seriously. You get exposed daily on that **** of a site BN24 and no one takes you seriously.

Tbh Gav it strongly doubt it'll get that far. Short of a total breakdown in communications, by the end of week an agreement will probably be reached, with either Khan getting concessions to take a 150k cut, or HBO increasing their offer by 300k
