This is the only thing that could make me reconsider not purchasing that PPV.

By the looks of it Golovkin badly wants to be on the card, whomever he's fighting. Zbik is looking more and more like the likely opponent, they are close to agreeing on the terms according to Golovkin's management. If N'Jikam accepts that fight is the first choice though. N'Jikam was offered € 150.000.

This fight just seems too good to be true, I'd be stunned if it happened, would make one hell of a card with the other fights already on there.

Hassan nijkam might be getting a shot at sturm in december for all you guys know and maybe thats why he his team are ignoring golovkin.
Another possibilty is he fights khurtizide for the regular title.
Why take a risk on golovkin when the man doesnt even have a real belt.

Because Golovkin-N'Jikam was mandated a while ago, just Hassan's team wasn't really interested, so Golovkin staying the interim champ and N'Jikam fighting some dude for the regular WBA title would be total BULL****. He should either fight Golovkin as it was ordered a few months back then the winner have a go vs. Sturm in 6 months, or challenge Sturm with the winner facing Golovkin. One way or an other, they will have to face GGG, unless the WBA comes up with total idiocy like having 3 champs in the same division and collecting 3 times the sanctioning fees. No more of this bull****! Golo-Hassan on the Pac/Margo card would be awesome, and all the WBA have to do is to mandate it once more, and we have a fight.

WTF are you talking about? Golovkin-N'Jikam has never been mandated.

Golovkin-Mundine was mandated. Top Rank won the purse bid. Mundine decided to fight some Argie cabdriver in Australia instead. Golovkin found a late replacement, but the replacement he found was so shitty that they made the fight for the interim title rather than the full title. N'Jikam WAS interested in that fight, and was out in the news saying he wanted the fight, but the date would have needed to be pushed back to he could have a full training camp. The WBA said that N'Jikam vs. the winner of that fight (Golovkin) would be the full champion.

Then the WBA mandated N'Jikam-Khurtsidze for the regular title, saying Golovkin would be the mandatory to face the winner. That's #2 vs #3 in their rankings, and N'Jikam is pretty much a lock to win, considering Khurtsidze is like 5'3".

So the WBA went back on their word, but Golovkin-N'Jikam still has never been mandated. I'm not sure why N'Jikam would want to face Golovkin in the current situation. He's been mandated to face an easier opponent for the full belt. And there's much bigger money to be made on Golovkin-N'Jikam than whatever Golovkin is offering at the moment. The televised undercard of Margo-Pacquiao is full, so he can't be offering much. Also, Golovkin is a promotional free agent, so any offer would have to come out of his own pocket. If N'Jikam waits like 6 months or so, he can get much more money for the same fight.

So basically, it just doesn't make sense right now. It's not either fighter's fault really, but it is what it is.

I do think it will be a great fight, whenever it happens, and I would favor Golovkin to win, but the only people to assign blame to right now are the WBA for their poor handling of the situation and Universum for trying to hold Golovkin hostage.

It wouldn't be televised anyway. The televised undercard is already set: Pavlik-Edouard, Rigondeaux-Cordoba, Mike Jones-Soto-Karass.

Golovkin isn't even signed with Top Rank. He's in a legal dispute with Universum. Golovkin claims he's a free agent, Universum still lists Golovkin on their website though.

According to N´Dams manager, Golovkin vs N´Dam was mandated. Golovkin vs Nunez winner would have to fight N´Dam within 90 days to be exact for the vacant regular belt.
There also was no issue with the date or N´Dams preparation.
According to his manager hes a professional and trains 6 days a week all year and hes ready at any time. That was their excuse for fighting Omar Gabriel Weis in June during the negotiations process for a fight with Golovkin to happen by the end of July. After Golovkin vs Nunez was set N´Dams manager went into the public and said N´Dam is ready and Nunez is a disgrace. N´Dams manager however demanded 600k or it should go to purse bids.
I have never seen any report about N´Dam vs Khurtsidze acutally been ordered by the WBA. Khurtsidze was just quoted that they are negotiating about a possible fight with the belt on the line.

Golovkin I believe would win this fight. I'm a fan of both, NDNJ is a very good fighter, very athletic, moves well, nice variety, maybe lacks the big punch.

But, I've seen him briefly hurt in fights. I just think Golovkin is going to be so sharp and powerful with his punching, NDNJ is going to struggle to take them.

    Great post.

I hope it comes off at some point though.

I'll edge towards HNN on the basis of favouritism. Toss-up though.

I'm pretty sure I read it somewhere, I think on the scene, but my bad if it wasn't mandated. Well, it should be now.

god knows strum wouldnt touch either of them since there live dangerous opponents
